What's new
What changed in Animanager, newest first. Each release is named after the version of Desktop Helper it shipped with, and lists the changes to the web app, Desktop Helper and the Blender add-on made since the one before. The list is generated at every build of the guide from the release notes.
- The web app updates on its own: reload the page to get the latest version.
- Desktop Helper and the Blender add-on change only when you install the new version. See Work locally with Desktop Helper.
Next update
Changes made since Desktop Helper 1.0.59. Web app changes are already live. Desktop Helper and Blender add-on changes arrive with the next version of Desktop Helper.
Canvas
- New Nano Banana 2.1 image generation with connected references, 1K, 2K and 4K output, and its own token estimates.
Review mode
- New arrows in the header to go to the previous or next revision of the stage, with the version, author, date and position. The up and down keys do the same.
Other
- Fixed chat failing to open in local development after switching to a checkout with an older cache.
- Fixed the loading error screen claiming a new version is available when the cause is unknown. It now explains the loading failure and how to share its details.
- Improved the Edit Revision and Edit Comment window. It is much wider and the text editor grows with long texts, so they are easier to edit.
- Fixed messages turning into a big title by accident. Typing "#" or "##" at the start of a line, or pasting a title, now gives normal text. Only the Heading button makes a heading, and headings in messages are just bold, almost the size of the text.
Desktop Helper 1.0.59
Revision canceling, compact report and Anibot posts
Oct 6, 2026
File management
- New: Cancel revision while its work files are still uploading. Only the person who posted it sees it, and it asks inside the card. The revision goes away as if it was never posted, the stage goes back to its previous status and the next revision keeps the same number.
- Improved: Clean revision on a failed upload asks inside the card too, and removes the revision the same way.
- Improved: files of a canceled revision stop counting in the studio's storage at once. Publishing the same files within 7 days reuses them without uploading again; after that they are deleted.
Desktop Helper
- Improved: the Helper stops uploading a revision as soon as it is canceled, from the browser or another computer, and never retries it. Cancel in Transfers cancels the revision too.
Other
- New: the report can be filtered by status. Pick one or more statuses, or No status, and Review mode only steps through what stays visible.
- Improved: the report is much more compact. A Grid view stacks each person's versions of the same item and stage into one card, and a List view shows one short row per revision. The choice is remembered in your browser.
- New: each person in the report shows a day ruler with a mark, in the status color, for every revision they published. In a week the ruler splits by day.
- Improved: Review mode opened from the report has an Open in Production button.
- Improved: report cards and rows show the stage as a chip in its studio color, separate from the status, plus the project and space each revision comes from.
- Fixed: lists in the message box show their bullets and numbers again, in the light and dark themes.
- Fixed: headings in messages use the app font, bold and a bit larger, instead of a narrow all caps title font.
- New: a Heading button in the message toolbar. It lights up while you write in a heading, so a heading is never a surprise, and one click goes back to normal text.
- Fixed: a message looks the same in the chat and in the Feed. Headings written with ## no longer show as plain text in the chat.
- Improved: Anibot posts show "for" and the name of who asked next to Anibot, instead of that name inside the text. A status change by Anibot without text shows as a status line, and its revisions can be text only.
Desktop Helper 1.0.58
Stage deadlines, data tables and render farm tools
Blender add-on 0.6.35 · Oct 5, 2026
Pipeline
- New: a CSV attached to a revision shows as a table in the thread and in the review panel. Sort, search, filter by column, hide columns, open it large, copy it or download the CSV. An optional schema file adds titles, money and percent formats, totals, grouped rows with subtotals, row colours with an icon, and the change against the previous revision's table.
- New: agents can publish these tables and read the tables of earlier revisions back as data. When a CSV cannot be read as a table, the revision still publishes with the file and says what to fix.
- New: a Data view on stages that have data tables, next to Media in the stage thread. It charts every table of the stage over time: headline figures with the change against the previous revision and seven revisions back, one metric as lines with the top rows and the rest grouped as Others, stacked bars for totals such as spend, one small chart per row, and a table you can download as CSV. Rows keep their colour in every view, and clicking a date opens that revision.
- New: a table's schema can name a date column as its time axis, so one report per day lines up by that date. A later revision for the same date replaces the earlier one in the charts.
- New: agents can read one metric of a stage's tables over time in a single call, for example cost per result per ad over the last 14 days, with each row's latest change and whether it is getting better or worse.
- New: items have five priority levels instead of three: Very high, High, Normal, Low and Very low. Very high and Very low show a double arrow next to the name, High and Low a single one. Items you had marked High or Low keep that meaning, and everything else stays Normal.
- New: AI agents can change the priority of one or several items when you ask them to, for example to rate ad campaigns. They can leave a short reason in the item's thread, signed by Anibot.
- New: every stage of an item can have its own deadline. In Item Settings, Stats, the last column of the table is an editable Deadline. Click cells to select them, Ctrl or ⌘ + click to add more, Shift + click for a range, and pick the date from the calendar icon. Stages without their own date show the item's or the project's in grey.
- New: the item deadline is set above that table, next to the project's date it falls back to.
- New: configuring several items at once now has Stats with their deadlines. The table lists every stage of the selected items with how many have it, and says Mixed when their dates differ. A date goes to that stage in every item that has it.
- New: projects have a Deadline warning in Settings, Schedule, 14 days by default. Within those days a stage's days left turn from grey to amber to red, and they are red once overdue. Approved and delivered stages have no mark.
- New: in the Tree Grid, a ring around each status dot shows its deadline. It is grey outside the project's warning window, turns from grey to amber to red as the date comes, and is red and thicker, with a gentle pulse, once overdue. Approved and delivered stages have no ring.
- New: pointing at a status dot in the Tree Grid shows a card with the stage, its status, the hours spent against the estimate and the deadline with its days left, and whether the date is the stage's own or inherited from the item or the project.
- New: the latest deadline of an item's stages shows next to its name in the Tree Grid, with its border in the urgency color. It counts the dates stages inherit from the item or the project. Point at it to see the date, the days left and which stage it comes from.
- Fixed: stage deadlines no longer fail to load with "Failed to load deadlines" in Item Settings, and they load faster in the Tree Grid and the Timeline. Saving them is faster too.
- Improved: when deadlines can't be loaded, Item Settings shows the reason with a Retry button and keeps the deadline cells locked instead of accepting dates that would not be saved. The Tree Grid and the Timeline show a small Deadlines unavailable notice with Retry instead of staying blank.
- Improved: you can configure several items at once even when they are in different collections of the same space. Stages lists every stage of their collections, notes the ones a collection doesn't use, and each item only gets the stages its collection uses. Stages only some of the items have are marked Some items. Items from different spaces get a clear message instead of an error.
- Improved: the pace table in Item Settings has one row per stage, in pipeline order. Blocking and Spline share the Animation pace, and stages without a pace, such as Music, SFX or Release, show a dash.
File management
- Improved: publishing a revision when no work file has changed now asks first. It names the last revision that had file changes and lets you publish anyway.
- Improved: the file list of a revision is titled "Changes in this revision". A revision that changed no files now says so and points to the revision that holds the current files, with a button to get them. Its own Get files button is disabled, with the same explanation.
Blender add-on
- New: Save for Animanager also records the Workbench settings of each scene (anti-aliasing, lighting, color, cavity and outline), so a render launched from the revision starts with them.
- Fixed: Replace and Reload masters now find an append placed inside your stage collection or any other collection, instead of saying "Nothing to reconcile". An asset appended twice is updated copy by copy.
- Fixed: an append brought in from a revision published before datablock tracking can be updated with Replace. It is matched with the new version by name, the items that differ are listed for you to decide, and the next update works like any other.
- Improved: when Replace finds nothing to update, the panel says which asset, what was not found and what to do.
- Fixed: a collection the new version added to an asset, such as its Lookdev collection, is kept after Replace.
- Fixed: Replace could close Blender when a mesh and its shape keys both came from the new version.
Desktop Helper
- New: Launch render shows only the settings of the chosen engine. Cycles keeps Samples, Device, Denoising and Noise threshold. Eevee shows Samples. Workbench shows its anti-aliasing samples, Lighting (Studio, Matcap or Flat), Color (Material, Object, Random, Attribute, Texture or Custom), Cavity and Outline, and the render nodes apply them.
- Improved: the details of a Workbench render show its anti-aliasing and shading instead of a number of samples.
- New: AI agents can follow the render farm. They show the queue with each job's progress and the render nodes, filtered by item, stage, status or your own jobs, and explain a job: its settings, its chunks and why one failed.
- New: AI agents can launch a render from a published revision when you ask, with the settings saved in the Blender file or the changes you name, like Launch render. They can also give you the frames of a render as download links, or download them into the stage's folder on your computer.
- Improved: the Helper window shows the Animanager logo in its header instead of a blue square with an A.
Review mode
- New: a Description button in Review mode shows what the artist wrote when publishing the revision, in a card at the bottom left of the player, so it does not cover the picture. It has the author, the date, and clickable links, and changes with the version you pick. It is open by default and remembers if you close it. Client review links never show it.
Timeline
- Improved: every studio has the Timeline. New studios start with it on, and studio admins can still switch it off in the studio settings, under Features.
- New: stage deadlines in the Timeline. Select a card and each stage-end label of its item shows ✓ when the stage finishes on time, or +Nd in red when it finishes N days after its deadline. Point at the label to see each stage with its deadline and its margin.
- New: a ◆ in the day header marks each open deadline of the selected item's stages, in the urgency color. Stages due the same day share one. Deadlines outside the days on screen are counted at the edge.
- New: any card that ends after its stage deadline has a red right edge and a +Nd pill. On the selected item's cards, the part planned after the deadline is hatched in red.
- Improved: pointing at a Timeline card shows the stage card of the Tree Grid with the planned dates, the hours spent against the estimate and whether the card fits its deadline or ends late.
Other
- New: the user guide is organized in four parts, Get started, How-to, Reference and Help, with new pages on reviewing as a client, inviting a client, sharing files by link, saving from Blender, canvas assets, choosing an AI model, token packs, plans and billing, the video editor and connecting AI agents. The list of agent tools and the token cost of every AI model update on their own when the app changes.
- Improved: the user guide moved to animanager.com/docs. Old /guide links open the same page at its new address. It now has core concepts, tours for producers and artists, a page per administration task, Replan, item priority, data tables, the feed, troubleshooting and a FAQ, and every screenshot shows the current app.
- New: the user guide has a Reference with every permission and its levels, statuses and stage types, keyboard shortcuts, file types and sizes, system requirements and a glossary, and a Help part with what's new in each release and how to contact support. The permissions and the release notes update on their own when the app changes.
- New: the user guide explains time and estimates in the Grid and the budget bar of each stage, recurring items, Item Settings, pipeline metadata, client approval on connections, editing the pipeline with the keyboard, going back to the inputs of a good revision and what to do when work files don't finish uploading.
- New: the user guide explains every part of setting up a studio: the setup wizard and its Advanced options, the save bar of Settings, what an invitee sees and why invite links can't be taken back, member skills, a new page on project settings, turning roles off and deleting them, space permissions, the Free plan limits and their notices, extra storage, studios billed on one account, automatic recharge and the profile menu.
- Improved: the user guide's screenshots are sharp on high resolution screens and show at their real size instead of stretched. Steps that showed the whole window now show the panel they talk about, and the pipeline example and the folder layouts are real pictures instead of text drawings.
- Improved: the user guide explains the canvas, AI generation and the video editor in full. New pages cover generating images and video node by node, the canvas utilities, the list of generations, notes and media on the canvas, generating a stage for a whole space, following a sequence in the video editor and creating shots from markers. The agent pages explain how to point an agent at what you have open.
- Improved: the user guide explains Desktop Helper, the Blender add-on and the render farm in full. A new page goes through the Blender add-on panel by panel, and the guide now covers the Helper's menu and window, what it does on its own, Save for Animanager step by step, choosing the files to publish, Team Activity, enrolling render nodes, the job details of a render and what to do when a chunk fails.
- Improved the website copy. Every page is shorter and plainer, with titles that say what you get.
- Removed the comparison with Flow, Kitsu and Jira from the website.
- Improved: AI token packs and their prices are only on the Pricing page. The AI page links there.
- Improved the use case pages. Each studio type now says in one or two sentences who it is for and what it gets.
- Improved: with yearly billing, each extra 1 TB storage block costs 330 € a year instead of 360 €. One month is free.
- Improved: studios still on the old permission system move to the new roles and permissions. Every member keeps exactly the same access.
- Fixed: an admin can no longer give themselves more permissions, finances included, through the old role settings of a studio.
- Fixed: signing in with Google could bring you back to the public home page still signed out. You now land in the app, signed in.
- New: the storage bar in the header has a second row with the AI tokens your studio used this month and its limit. It turns amber from 90%. Internal studios see Unlimited. Hover it for the exact numbers and the renewal date.
- Fixed: agents that read a stage, its revisions, its thread or its review feedback now see the files attached to revisions and messages from before 2026, with a download link when you can open them. Files that can no longer be found are listed by name and type, without a link.
- Fixed: the Mark all as read button no longer covers the feed tabs in a narrow feed panel. The tabs always stay visible, and the button shows only its check icon when there is no room for its text.
- New: a new version of the website, ready to review before it is published. The home page follows a production from plan to delivery, and Pricing has a calculator for seats, extra storage and token packs.
- New: Animanager can give a studio a courtesy: extra AI tokens every month or unlimited tokens, and extra storage or unlimited storage, each with an optional end date. Billing shows it as "Courtesy from Animanager". Extra tokens renew every month with the plan tokens and are spent before purchased packs. When a courtesy ends the studio goes back to its plan and nothing is deleted.
- Improved: the AI tokens row in the header counts courtesy tokens in its limit and shows Unlimited when a studio has unlimited tokens.
- Improved: a studio given a support plan now also gets the AI tokens of that plan.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, the Product menu is now a wide menu in four columns (Plan, Produce, Create with AI, Review and deliver), each entry with an icon and a line, plus a featured card. Use cases are grouped by kind of studio. Home and Pricing alternate roomier dark bands with light sections, the footer is dark, and the header stays dark while you scroll. Pending product images show as a frame.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, pages no longer end with a large call to action card before the footer. The footer is a compact dark footer: the logo with a short line and a Start free link, then Product, Use cases and Help columns, and a bottom line with the copyright, Privacy and Terms.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, the home page no longer has the "Made for your kind of work" section. The use case pages are still in the Use cases menu. In its place, "Content created with Animanager for these brands." with a compact, centred wall of brand logos, all at the same height.
- Improved: the home page of the new website shows real Animanager screens instead of placeholders: a client reviewing a shot from a review link, with a note drawn on the frame, an AI agent's feedback summary in the chat of a shot, and the share files link dialog.
- New: a cookie banner on animanager.com. Accept and Reject are equally easy, and Preferences lets you choose. Only if you accept, the site measures our Meta ads on its public pages and remembers which campaign brought you. Shared review and file links and the app itself are never reported. Change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- Improved: your cookie choice and the campaign that brought you here are now remembered across animanager.com and www.animanager.com. Accept once and the banner does not come back on the other site.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, the product, use case and Pricing pages open light, with the page title and the first section together. Dark bands are whole sections with a product image, never a thin strip, and pages without one stay light. The header is solid dark on every page, also while you scroll.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, Pricing no longer lists what each AI generation costs. The storage table adds high-volume storage on Enterprise, on request, with a button to contact us.
- Fixed: in the new version of the website, the Pricing calculator now opens on 1 seat (29 € per month and 250 GB) and adds a 1 seat quick choice. Storage shows exact figures, for example 1.25 TB for 5 seats instead of 1.2 TB.
- Improved: every page of animanager.com now arrives with its full content, title and description, so search engines and AI assistants can read it. Links shared on LinkedIn, X, Slack or WhatsApp show a preview with a picture, and Google gets the plans, prices and questions of each page.
- Fixed: an address that does not exist on animanager.com now answers Page not found to search engines too, and an address ending in a slash opens the same page without it.
- Improved: the new version of the website reads better on a phone. The home page photo fills the whole opening section. Production pipelines on the use case pages are a list, one step under another with its name. Pricing tables are compact lists. The MCP page leaves out the full tool reference, the footer shows its links in two columns, and tapping Product or Use cases in the menu opens its list, with All features or All use cases inside. On every screen, the Government of Ireland logo is larger so its text can be read.
- Improved: in the new version of the website, every page has its own search title and description that say what it offers. Product images describe what they show for screen readers and search engines, and each use case page links to the features it relies on.
- Improved: AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini can now read and cite animanager.com and the user guide. The site has an llms.txt summary with every page and the real prices, the full text of the website in one file, and each page as Markdown at its address followed by .md.
- Improved: the user guide is now listed in the website sitemap, and publishing the website tells Bing straight away which pages changed.
- New: the cookie banner and Cookie settings have a separate Analytics choice. With it, PostHog (hosted in the EU) recognises your visits to the website and the app and links them to your account, to see which parts of Animanager are used. Without it, visits are only counted anonymously and nothing is stored in your browser. Screens are never recorded. The banner asks once more so you can decide.
- Improved: the Privacy Policy explains what usage analytics Animanager collects and who processes it.
- New: if you accept marketing cookies, our Meta ads are measured up to the account and subscription, not only visits: viewing the plans, signing up, creating a studio, starting a trial and subscribing. Your email is only sent in hashed form, app screens are never reported, and withdrawing consent stops it at once.
- New: a Report permission in Settings, Roles & permissions, Studio access, with No access and View. It decides who can read the report of what each person published in a period. Admins and owners have View, and every other role starts with No access.
Desktop Helper 1.0.57
Studio setup, Free plan and a new Settings page
Blender add-on 0.6.34 · Sep 28, 2026
File management
- Improved: file lists, pinned masters and stage inputs load from the file index, so they stay fast when storage is slow.
- Improved security: a studio can only download its own work files, even from someone who knows a file's fingerprint. Every upload is checked against its content before another studio can reuse the same stored copy.
Blender add-on
- Improved the Reconcile asset list. Every row shows the icon of its type instead of a warning sign, and every row still to decide shows in red. Hovering a name tells what it is, which asset it belongs to and what each stage did to it. Hovering an option tells what the file keeps and what is discarded.
Desktop Helper
- Improved: a development copy of the helper now runs next to the installed one with its own port, settings and sign-in. It no longer closes the installed helper or signs it out.
- Improved: Get files and Blender activity previews go straight to storage instead of through the server.
- New: the Helper window in the app has a Learn more link to the user guide page about what the Helper does.
- New: the user guide explains step by step how to open the Helper the first time on Mac and Windows, when the system warns about it.
- Improved: the Helper is ready to be signed on Mac and Windows. This version is still unsigned, so installing and opening it works as before.
- New: on Mac, the Helper will update itself once it ships signed. Until then, Mac updates stay manual.
Canvas
- Fixed: improving a generator prompt with AI charges its listed token price when it finishes. Before, it held tokens for half an hour and never charged them. If it fails, the held tokens come back at once.
Other
- New studio setup. Creating a studio asks whether you work in Blender and whether you are a team or one person, then suggests a studio type with its stages, statuses and modules. You can pick another type, and names, stages and statuses stay editable under Advanced.
- New: on your first sign in you can set up your own studio with the studio setup, join a team with an invite link, or go to the Animanager studio. Accounts that are only in the Animanager studio see it once. Invited accounts go straight to their team.
- Improved: new studios start with Timeline off. An admin can turn it on in the studio settings.
- Removed Render Farm, Finances and Publisher from the studio setup and the studio module settings. Animanager support switches them on for a studio.
- Fixed typing / in the chat opening an empty Anibot list in studios without Anibot functions.
- Fixed Anibot requests failing when the Helper was connected without a signed-in web session.
- Fixed the Note label in the stage chat showing as a tall, broken box. It now sits on one line like the other labels.
- New: Billing shows what Pro costs for your studio. It lists the billable seats of the billing account, the price per seat and the total, and updates when members join, leave or move studios.
- Improved the full screen view of chat images and videos. The message they came with now shows next to them, below landscape media and to the right of vertical or square media, without making the media smaller.
- New Settings page. Studio, project and your account settings share one menu, grouped by level.
- Improved: project, space and collection settings show whether each value is inherited or changed there, with a way back to the inherited one.
- Improved: the theme moved from the profile menu to Settings > Preferences.
- Improved: the server runs on two machines, so the app stays up when one of them fails or stalls. Render nodes still start new jobs right away.
- New Free plan for new studios, with one member and 1 GB of storage. Existing studios keep unlimited access.
- New plan limits in Billing for Free studios, with a button to move to Pro.
- New prompt to move to Pro when an invite or an upload hits a Free limit.
- New Free limits of 1 project, 2 spaces and 50 items, with the same prompt to move to Pro.
- Improved: AI results and canvas media count in the studio storage.
- Improved: Free studios buy token packs and generate without moving to Pro, until their storage is full.
- Removed extra storage from Free studios. More storage comes with Pro.
- Improved: a studio with many AI generations running waits its turn instead of slowing down other studios.
- New user guide at /guide/, updated for the Settings page, studio types and the farm. Open it from User guide in the profile menu or from the Guide links in settings, the pipeline editor, the Helper setup, the Farm, the canvas, revisions, review mode, the Timeline and studio creation.
- Improved the Desktop Helper page of the website. It is half as long, with an image in every section.
- Removed the avatar zoom. Hovering an avatar no longer shows it at double size.
- Fixed token pack purchases and automatic recharges that could add their tokens twice. Each payment now adds its tokens exactly once.
- Fixed a paid token pack that could stay without its tokens when the first confirmation from the payment provider failed. The retry now adds them.
- New internal studios. Animanager support can mark a studio as internal: it has no plan limits, generates with AI without spending tokens, and Billing says so instead of offering Pro or token packs.
- New Manage billing button in Billing. It opens the Stripe billing portal to change the card, download invoices or cancel the subscription.
- Removed the example invoices from Billing. It shows the invoices Stripe issued, or points to the billing portal.
- Removed the card form from Billing. Stripe asks for the card at checkout and Animanager never sees it.
- Fixed a studio that already has a subscription being able to start a second one. It is taken to the billing portal instead.
- Improved: checkout stops with a clear message when the price shown does not match the price Stripe would charge. Superadmin > Prices warns about any such price.
- Improved: Billing says clearly when online payment is not available yet, instead of showing a checkout that cannot charge.
- Improved privacy in the Animanager studio. Members only see themselves and the Animanager team in member lists, mentions, online status and Team Chat, and never another member's e-mail, last seen time or Discord ID. Project chats there work as before.
- Improved: accounts created with e-mail and password get a name made from the address instead of the address itself. Names that were still an e-mail address change the same way, and you can edit yours in Settings.
- Fixed studio setup showing an error code when the studio name is already taken. It now goes back to the name step and asks for another name.
- Improved: the studio setup describes Files and helper as it works. You download the Helper the first time an action needs it.
- New: every token pack, bought at checkout or by automatic recharge, comes with an invoice that shows its VAT. Find them in Billing and in the billing portal.
- Removed the Allow extra storage costs switch from Billing. Uploads above the storage pool wait until the studio adds extra storage.
- New: the Animanager website opens at animanager.com when you are signed out. Signed in, animanager.com opens the app as before, and animanager.com/home shows the website.
- Improved: opening an app link while signed out takes you to log in and then back to that link.
- Removed the old landing, pricing and features pages of the app. Pricing and features are pages of the website now, and old website links under /p keep working.
- New: welcome AI tokens come once per person, with the first studio they create, instead of with every new studio. Studios on Pro keep their own.
- New limit of 2 Free studios per person. Creating one more explains the limit and suggests moving one of them to Pro. Nothing is removed, and studios on Pro do not count.
- New: starting a very large number of AI generations in a short time is refused with a message that says how long to wait. Normal work, even with the studio running 24 generations at once, never reaches it.
- Improved: the Privacy Policy lists every service provider Animanager uses, and the Terms of Service explain cancellation, token packs and refunds.
- Improved privacy: the website and the canvas load their fonts from Animanager itself. Your browser no longer contacts Google Fonts.
- Removed EU data residency from the Enterprise add-ons on the pricing pages. It is not offered.
- New: Pro studios add and remove extra storage in Billing. Each block (1 TB) has a fixed price, goes on the Pro subscription and grows the storage pool right away. Blocks the studio is using cannot be removed until the space is freed.
- Improved: the website pricing page says that extra storage is added and removed in Billing, at a fixed price per block.
- Improved: chat link previews only open pages on the public internet. Links to local or private network addresses show no preview.
- Fixed video generation through the Animanager API, which always failed.
- Fixed the website saying that every new studio gets welcome AI tokens. It now says they come once per person, with the first studio, and the Free plan shows the limit of 2 Free studios per person.
- Improved: the Terms of Service explain extra storage. Blocks have a fixed price, are added and removed in Billing with the subscription, and blocks the studio is using cannot be removed until the space is freed.
- New: checkout asks you to accept the Terms of Service and to confirm that your plan or your tokens start right away.
- Improved privacy: when you ask Animanager support to delete your account, your account, profile and personal data are deleted. The work you did in a studio stays there without your name, so the studio keeps its history.
- Improved privacy: error reports are deleted 90 days after the error last happened.
- Fixed: members removed from a studio can no longer see its activity, playlists, video editor projects, canvas assets, project events and summaries, or the file lists of its tasks.
- Improved: chats load less data. Each message no longer carries its search index, so long conversations open faster.
Desktop Helper 1.0.56
Farm notifications and fewer reconcile decisions
Blender add-on 0.6.33 · Sep 25, 2026
Pipeline
- New farm notifications from Anibot in the stage chat and the activity feed. You hear when a render job is queued, when it finishes (or finishes with failed frames), and when a node has not finished a frame for 10 minutes.
Blender add-on
- Fixed: reconciling in Blender no longer asks to decide every datablock one branch added when an older revision in its history has no manifest.
- Improved: a datablock that cannot be compared in Reconcile asset now says why, for example that an older base has no manifest, instead of always blaming a fingerprint from another version. Needs the updated Helper and addon.
Other
- Fixed pasted links with spaces in the address (like Dropbox folder links) showing only half as a link. Messages already sent now show the whole link too.
- Fixed the Note label in the activity feed showing as a tall, broken box. It now sits on one line like the other labels.
- Improved activity feed cards that change a status. The card background now takes the color of that status.
- Improved farm notifications in the activity feed. They now show as their own cards with the farm icon, the job or node, and a color per notice (blue queued, green finished, red finished with errors, amber stalling). A new "Farm notices" option in the feed settings hides or shows them.
- Fixed unread chat badges failing to load in large studios. If a load still fails, the badges you already see stay and they reload on their own a little later.
- Fixed the items of a space sometimes not showing in the chat channel tree in large studios.
- Improved reliability when the database briefly drops a connection. The app now tries again instead of showing an error.

- Fixed: saving the settings or workflow of a space no longer empties the task cells of its items until you refresh or click an item. People watching the same space also keep seeing them.
File management
- New: a Prepare files button in the chat of a stage that already has revisions. It builds a new base file from the stage inputs, for example from the latest Layout master, next to your current work file. The new file is named after where it comes from, like Shot_Blocking_from_Layout_v3.blend, and your existing files are never replaced. Needs the updated Helper and Blender addon.
Blender add-on
- New: the addon works with Prepare files. Each base file prepared in a task folder keeps track of the stage it was built from.
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: a failed Helper update on Windows no longer shows a crash popup. It is retried later.
- Fixed: an enrolled render node no longer fails every render with "Supabase JWT is invalid or expired" when an old browser login is left on that computer. Render nodes now always work with their own machine access.
- Fixed: render nodes no longer get errors reporting finished frames while they pick up new work, and the Helper stays signed in through short server database outages.
Canvas
- Fixed: saving a canvas, trashing elements or starting an Enhance no longer fails with "deadlock detected" when several changes land at once. Drawing a connection that already exists no longer makes the save fail.
Timeline
- Fixed: the Timeline no longer fails to load when you scroll far back or ahead past recurring work you cannot edit.
Other
- Fixed: Anibot answers to an /anibot request no longer start with the name of the person whose computer served it.
- Fixed: Anibot messages, comments and revisions are now translated like everyone else's in studios with Translations on.
- Fixed: chat messages with a named link, such as [Click to download](address), now show the clickable label instead of the raw brackets and address. Link previews also no longer include a stray closing bracket.
- Fixed: images and thumbnails in chats and panels no longer all fail to load because one of them, such as a profile picture, is not an uploaded file.
- Improved: the app opens faster. The first screen downloads much less code, and returning visits reuse the files already in the browser instead of checking each one again.
- Fixed: asset indicators in the Tree, notification badges, mark as read, chat unread badges, moving items between collections and the Finance projects of the current year no longer fail with timeouts in large studios.
- Improved: message search now needs at least 3 letters. Very short searches such as "de" used to stall and fail.
- Fixed: live updates no longer stop after hours are edited in the Timesheet or after a tab sleeps past its session.
- Fixed: spaces, collections and items no longer fail to load in the tree, navigation and notifications.
- Fixed: deleting a revision no longer fails with a "context and date immutable" error.
- Fixed: summarizing a busy feed no longer fails. Very large feeds are summarized from the newest 200 notifications.
- Fixed: links and ids in the wrong format now get a clear error instead of a server error.
- Fixed: after an update the app reloads itself once instead of failing to open a page.
- Improved: code files, logs and saved emails can now be attached as plain text.
- Improved: attaching a file that is too large now tells you the size limit right away.
- Fixed: desktop notifications now appear on Android.
- Fixed: messages with many images, such as Anibot reports, no longer show only some of them after a slow load.
- Improved: agents can now look at a revision's videos and images and pull frames and contact sheets from them without placing them on a canvas first. They can also read frame strips of video files on your computer.
- New: agents can read the sound of a video: whether it has audio, how loud it is, its peaks and where it goes silent.
- Improved: agents can attach their own captures and files straight to a message, comment or revision, without leaving copies on the canvas.
- Improved: agents can remove images and videos they placed on a canvas themselves during the same session. The files are kept.
- Fixed: agents can publish a revision with work files and review media again. It failed with "uploadPurposeId is required for permissions v2 studios" before anything was published.
- Fixed: a long message no longer goes blank a moment after it is posted and only comes back after a refresh.
- Fixed: on a shared computer, browser notifications no longer show messages meant for other people who signed in there before, including from places you cannot open. Signing out now also stops notifications on that browser.
Desktop Helper 1.0.54
Anibot functions, agent reviews and Blender builds
Blender add-on 0.6.31 · Sep 22, 2026
Blender add-on
- Fixed: the addon now reports whether a blend will run the compositor, so Launch render can warn about it before the job starts.
Desktop Helper
- New: agents and CREW can ask the Helper for every workspace folder of an item at once, with which ones already exist on this computer and where the item folder is.
- New: agents can ask which Blender opens a work file on this computer. The Helper lists every Blender build installed here, including the portable builds Animanager keeps in its own folder, reads the version a .blend was saved with, names the build to use, and says whether the studio's Asset Library has a downloadable build when none matches.
- New: agents can install a missing Blender version from the studio's Asset Library into Animanager's folder, the same way a render node does, and follow the install as a job.
- Improved: revisions now tell agents which Blender, addon and Helper versions their work files were published with, the same facts the revision card shows.
- Improved: the agent help explains that the local folder of a stage is created with the same action as the Local files button, so agents no longer create files for a stage before its local structure exists.
- Improved: the Helper now names the item, the stage, the expected work-file base name and the allowed file types when it prepares or reports a workspace, so outside tools no longer read the workspace internals or search the disk.
- Improved: an installer or archive dropped at the root of a stage workspace without a work-file family is recognised as its work file, and the agent help explains how to publish it.
- Improved: idle render nodes now wait as long as the server suggests between checks for work instead of asking every second and a half, so a large farm no longer slows the app down for everyone. Nodes still pick up a job as soon as it arrives.
- New: agents can post a comment on a stage and set its status without publishing a revision, the way a person does from the composer.
- Fixed: agents saw stages as unassigned when the timeline had artists on them. Stage, item and space reads now name the assigned people.
- Improved: when an agent tries to publish, edit or delete without your confirmation, the refusal names the exact confirmation that is missing instead of guessing what you asked.
- Improved: the stage read tells agents how to download the published work files and how to publish with work files.
- Improved: the Claude Code install command registers the MCP for your whole account, so it is available in every project and folder.
- Fixed: render batches no longer pile up stuck on Uploading on a render node.
- Improved: an upload that stops making progress is now given up and the batch is queued again for another node.
- Fixed: turning off rendering on a node closes its background Blender right away instead of leaving it in memory until the idle timeout.
- New: agents can publish a revision with work files signed by Anibot instead of the person, with the person's name opening the text and recorded as who asked, the same way Anibot signs a revision with media. The person must be allowed to publish on that stage, their Helper still uploads the files, and moderators can edit or delete those revisions like any other Anibot post. Older Helpers refuse the request instead of publishing in the person's name.
- New: every render farm listed in the Helper window has an Un-enroll button, so a machine can leave a farm from the machine itself without logging into Animanager there. The node disappears from that studio's Farm list and any render work it held goes back to the queue.
Review mode
- New: agents that read a stage or its thread now receive each review feedback whole: which version, media and frame it points at, the comment, and every drawing, text and pasted reference described in words, plus a picture of that frame with the drawings on top, as the reviewer saw it. Pasted reference images appear as media of the message and can be opened with the usual media tools.
- New: agents can ask for every review feedback of a revision at once, with the pictures at the size they need.
Other
- Fixed: the payroll working day now accepts values above 100% to record overtime, for example 120% for a month with four extra days. Rows with overtime show the extra percentage under the activity label. The active working days count stays as it is.
- New: type / at the start of a chat message to see the Anibot functions that connected machines offer right now, pick one and add your comment ("/anibot simulation houdini run the sim"). The request is queued for a machine serving that function; replies in that thread reach the machine working on it, and if nobody is connected after ten minutes Anibot says so in the thread once.
- New: if you ask Anibot for a function nobody offers, Anibot answers in the thread with the functions that are online.
- Fixed: Anibot functions registered by CREW now appear in the / picker.
- Improved: Get renders on the farm page no longer waits for another job's download to finish; each job you ask for joins a download queue and runs in turn, the job list shows which ones are queued or downloading, and clicking Queued removes a job from the queue.
- New: a Publisher post can be framed as 1:1, 16:9, 9:16 or 3:4. The preview uses that frame, and the image or video sent to the network is cropped to match.
- Improved: scheduled Publisher posts on the calendar show a thumbnail of their media.
- Improved: the media picker uses checkboxes for images, videos, revisions and attachments, can show only each stage's master revision, and can limit the list to chosen stages.
- Fixed: the Publisher media picker loads again; it failed with a server error when listing the studio's attachments and revisions.
- Fixed: Publisher menus match the rest of the page, and the reload button shows a refresh icon.
- Fixed: opening another clip container from the video editor while the clip canvas window was already open kept showing the previous clip's folder when the new clip had no starred media.
- New: Publisher is a studio module. Owners switch it on in Studio settings, Modules, and give roles the View Publisher permission; the Publisher entry and page then appear for those members. Studios without the module never see it.
- Improved: the Publisher page says when Publisher is off on the server, and warns above the calendar only when scheduled posts are not being delivered because the delivery engine is off.
- Improved: preparing a post now refuses files and formats the destination network does not take through Buffer (for example a GIF on Instagram or an image post on YouTube) with the reason and what to replace them with, using Buffer's documented limits per network.

Agents work in the stage folder
Blender add-on 0.6.30 · Sep 21, 2026
Blender add-on
- New: Launch render lets you keep, force or disable compositing for the job, and warns in yellow when the blend will run the compositor.
Desktop Helper
- Improved: agents can open Animanager links and short IDs directly instead of asking for internal UUIDs.
- New: agents can paste any Animanager link and are told what it opens (studio, project, space, item or stage) and where to go next, and a link to a stage also works wherever an item or space is expected.
- New: agents can ask the Helper for its full tool catalogue, search it by what they want to do, and see what each tool needs before calling it.
- New: agents can read the work files of a revision, the files published on a stage and its pipeline inputs.
- New: agents can prepare the local workspace, run Get files for a revision or the stage inputs, and see local conflicts before anything is written.
- New: agents can review local changes and publish a revision with work files, previews and attachments in your name, and follow the upload until it finishes.
- New: agents can correct or delete a revision when you ask, with the same rules as the revision menu.
- Improved: agent errors now say whether a tool is missing, a permission is missing, the Helper is off, or the Helper or server is too old.
- Fixed: the agent help no longer calls a working Helper too old for the file tools; it names what a Helper really lacks when it does.
- New: preparing or checking a stage workspace tells agents exactly where to save: the folder, the work file name, files/ and exports/, and the folder to leave alone.
- New: agents can ask which stage a local folder or file belongs to, and are warned when a folder inside the workspace was created by hand.
- New: the stage and item reads show the local workspace folder of each stage when the Helper is running.
- New: agents can bring every file published on a stage into the workspace in one call, with conflicts kept safe as copies.
- Improved: stages without a work file type (images, videos, documents, archives) get no empty starter file, and revisions with files only are accepted; stages that demand a work file say which file is missing.
- Improved: two agents publishing from the same stage folder no longer trample each other: the second is told which upload is in progress and how to wait for it or continue it.
- Improved: refusals for a Helper session now list the endpoints it may call.
Review mode
- Fixed: deleting a revision no longer stalls or fails, it disappears right away and takes its time spent, files and reconciliation history with it.
- Fixed: after deleting the only revision of a stage, Get files creates the starter work file again instead of treating the deleted revision's files as still published.
Other
- New: Hover over a Publisher calendar post to preview its media, caption and content for each account.
- New: Publisher posts can use real attachments and revisions from your projects, with search, a project to revision breadcrumb and a link back to where each file comes from.
- New: Publisher posts, destination overrides, account groups and schedules are saved per studio on the server, with separate view, edit, publish and connection permissions.
- New: the Publisher calendar and editor work on saved posts: drafts, dates with an explicit time zone, per-account overrides and groups survive reloads, dragging a post moves every destination by the same days, and an edit that collides with someone else's save is shown instead of overwritten.
- Fixed: agents connected through the helper can access canvases and production tools with your existing permissions.
- New: a saved Publisher post shows a Delivery files check that reads every chosen file, says which ones a network cannot take as they are and what to replace them with, and keeps exact copies ready for publishing only when a post is actually going out.
- New: a saved Publisher post shows a Delivery block with the state of every destination (scheduled at the network, publishing, published, retrying, needs attention, unknown outcome, canceled), the message behind it, the attempt history and buttons to hand the post over now, retry only the destinations that failed, and resolve an outcome the network never confirmed.
- New: Publisher posts can be edited or rescheduled after a network accepted them; the change is sent to the network as an update and a refusal is shown instead of pretended.
- New: a Dry run button simulates the hand-off of a Publisher post with its real files without sending or exporting anything.
- Improved: disconnecting a Publisher account now says how many posts the network already holds and may still publish.
- New: Publisher connects to Buffer from Accounts: paste the studio's Buffer API key, pick the organization and the channels are imported with their real state (connected, locked, disconnected in Buffer) and how each one publishes (automatically or by a reminder someone completes from the app).
- New: Publisher managers can check the Buffer connection, sync channels after changes in Buffer, replace the key or disconnect, and see how many Buffer requests are left.
- New: scheduled Publisher posts are handed to Buffer, which publishes them at the chosen time; the Delivery block shows Reminder destinations as such and Check at Buffer asks Buffer what it holds now.
- Improved: a change made inside Buffer after a hand-off is shown as out of sync instead of being overwritten; Retry failed sends your version again on purpose.
- Improved: the Delivery files check now refuses files a network cannot take (for example a PNG on Instagram) with what to export instead, before anything is sent.
- Removed: Reddit is no longer offered as a Publisher network.
- Fixed: the Publisher page now opens against the local server without any extra setup, instead of reporting Publisher as disabled.
Desktop Helper 1.0.52
Reliable Blender reconciliation
Blender add-on 0.6.30 · Sep 20, 2026
Pipeline
- Fixed: the reconciliation list no longer discards itself when you select something, move the timeline or let the panel refresh while the stages are compared.
- Improved: comparing stages asks the server only for the common ancestor, so it no longer waits on a server-side diff of every datablock.
- Fixed: the reconciliation list now opens when an asset was changed in two stages at once, instead of the panel staying silently at Reconciliation pending.
- Fixed: Reconcile no longer runs Save for Animanager first, so a stage that is not ready to save can still be compared.
- Improved: reconciliation choices are named after the stages, such as Keep Location v1 or Keep Spline v1.
- Improved: the reconciliation list shows conflicts first, with Blender icons per type and one button per stage to decide every row.
- Improved: applying a reconciliation is faster and no longer writes a recovery copy of the file.
- Fixed: a stage merged as the base of the reconciliation no longer shows Mode changed with a Reload button afterwards.
- Improved: when the base revision of a reconciliation has no asset manifest, the panel tells which stage to publish again instead of listing every datablock as a decision.
- Improved: Bring changes and Replace no longer list every datablock when the previous revision cannot be compared. The panel offers Copy for appended inputs, or bringing the changes by hand and marking the revision as brought in for continued stages.
Blender add-on
- Fixed: installing an add-on update with Blender open no longer mixes old and new code until you restart.
- Improved: stages published with an older helper are no longer offered for reconciliation; the panel only tells which stages to publish again.
- Fixed: rows that must be applied by hand no longer keep the OK button of the reconciliation list disabled.
Desktop Helper 1.0.51
Stage convergence and reliable continuations
Blender add-on 0.6.29 · Sep 19, 2026
Pipeline
- Fixed: Blender files whose inputs bring the same assets from several stages (Lookdev with Location and Spline) now converge into one collection per asset instead of one copy per stage.
- Fixed: reconciling linked stages compared the file on disk without the linked inputs and merged nothing, so Reconcile now saves the file first.
- New: a file that opens with the same assets arriving from several stages says so on open, and the Animanager panel offers Reconcile.
- New: a stage that continues from another one is told when the origin publishes a new revision, and Bring changes merges those changes into your file with your work preserved and conflicts asked.
- Improved: when every stage arrives linked, the stage with the most changes becomes the base copy and the others are merged into it.
- Improved: a stage merged into your file offers Update in the Inputs panel when it publishes again, with your work preserved.
- Fixed: assets appended by an upstream stage were reported as removed from the pipeline in the stages that consume that stage.
- Removed: the Asset branches section of the Animanager panel, since stages are what you see and reconcile.
Desktop Helper 1.0.50
Reliable continuations and Blender reconciliation
Blender add-on 0.6.28 · Sep 19, 2026
Pipeline
- Fixed: Continued stages compare with the revision they actually started from instead of inheriting an older Layout comparison.
- Fixed: Linked and appended assets at the same level appear together in Asset changes.
- Fixed: Revisions without a recorded comparison no longer show every asset as removed.
- Improved: Animation comparisons ignore evaluated pose values and modifier panel state.
File management
- Fixed: Publishing another revision keeps the saved Blender file as a work file, with its revision name and asset changes.
- Fixed: Get files refreshes an unedited continuation when its source changes and reports updates that need a choice when local work exists.
- Fixed: Starting a continuation also prepares the linked assets it needs.
Blender add-on
- Fixed: Branches imported under the current stage are detected for reconciliation in both Append and Link mode.
- Fixed: Linked assets keep their identity when a branch is opened from a different folder.
- Fixed: Appending or linking a downloaded stage restores linked characters whose relative paths still point to the original work folder.
- Fixed: Stage comparisons and reconciliation include render settings and show conflicting choices.
- Fixed: Merging appended and linked branches keeps character deformations connected to the surviving animated rig.
Other
- Fixed: Asset changes and History now show the selected revision's real published data instead of placeholder revisions.
Desktop Helper 1.0.49
Asset reconciliation, reliable render nodes and clearer revision history
Blender add-on 0.6.27 · Sep 19, 2026
Pipeline
- Fixed: local comparisons keep recognizing existing assets when an older Blender file receives its first tracking IDs, instead of reporting those assets as removed and added again.
- Fixed: recording asset identities no longer creates false content changes or hides changes to the artist's custom properties.
- Improved: reconciliation stops loading older revisions once the source covers every participating datablock. Missing older history no longer invalidates changes already covered by that source.
- Fixed: successive publications remember the actual file they continued, including when several artists work on separate copies.
- Fixed: comparisons can use a participating revision as their common ancestor and find older bases for assets added later.
- New: every published revision now records what each asset in the Blender file contains, so the revision info in the chat shows which objects, materials or actions changed since the previous revision and since the stages it came from.
- New: a revision published after reconciling assets records which stage revisions were merged, so the next time one of them publishes, only what changed since the merge is compared.
- Fixed: datablocks appended from another file no longer read as changed just because Blender remembers where they came from.
Blender add-on
- Improved: Save for Animanager verifies large Blender files faster with the updated helper. Saving still works with older helpers or while offline.
- Fixed: identifying asset copies preserves meshes shared with another stage. Independent copies still get new identities, and uncertain shared meshes ask for a choice.
- Fixed: moving an asset out of an imported branch preserves its identity and pending reconciliation after reopening. Real copies still get separate identities, and uncertain cases ask for a choice.
- Fixed: removing an asset keeps the contents of shared collections that remain in the scene, including when deleting through reconciliation.
- Fixed: duplicating an asset and moving it outside its stage before saving keeps the original identity and gives the copy its own identity. Uncertain copies ask for an original.
- Fixed: choosing the original of an ambiguous copy keeps representations from other imported branches unchanged.
- Fixed: Replace brings in changed shape-key geometry and checks that shape keys and their mesh use compatible choices.
- Fixed: reconciliation rejects stale comparisons after edits, file changes or a newer request.
- Fixed: failed reconciliation restores the scene and leaves its decisions pending instead of recording a completed merge.
- Fixed: linked branches converge into one scene representation while keeping exclusive contents and references.
- Fixed: updating a reconciled linked input preserves earlier choices and compares only changes since its last merge.
- Fixed: unavailable comparisons and incompatible fingerprints require an explicit choice and leave missing branches pending.
- Fixed: treating nested asset copies as the same instance also matches their contents and references.
- New: Save for Animanager gives every asset datablock a stable identity that survives renames, appends and continuations, and marks duplicated copies as copies.
- New: an "Asset branches" section in the Animanager panel lists what each stage changed in assets that arrive through several stages, and what the current file changed since the last publish, without merging anything yet.
- New: when the same asset arrives through several stages (for example Spline, Location and FX converging in Lookdev), the panel warns "Reconciliation pending" and a Reconcile button opens one list with every changed object, material, action or mesh, which stage changed it and a choice per row, with bulk choices per type and per stage. Confirming merges everything into a single copy in one undoable step: animation, light linking, constraints and simulation collisions keep pointing at the merged asset. Cancel changes nothing.
- Improved: Replace on an appended input no longer discards your edits. It compares the new version with what you changed since you brought it in: what the source changed comes in, what you changed stays, and what both changed is asked.
- Fixed: a file continued from a continuation (Layout to Blocking to Spline) recorded the first stage as its parent instead of the stage it was actually copied from.
- New: linked assets join the reconciliation. A published revision records, for every library override in the file, exactly which properties the override changed against the master, plus the actions and materials assigned to it, so the revision info and the panel can say "Bruno_rig: location, animation changed in Spline".
- New: stages brought with Link · Stage take part in the reconciliation without a copy in the file. Their changes to a linked asset merge into the single override the file already has, property by property: what each stage changed comes in, the same property changed by two stages is asked, and Reset returns a property to the library value. One undoable step, recorded like any other merge.
- Fixed: a library override no longer reads as the file's own stage collection because it inherited the master's stamps.
- Fixed: ten real copies of an asset now get ten identities whether they sit inside the stage collection or directly under the scene, and moving them around the Outliner no longer merges them into one.
- Fixed: a duplicated asset no longer steals the original's identity when it is renamed before saving. Who is the original is decided from what the addon saw, never from names.
- New: when copies made with the addon off share one identity, the panel lists them under "Identity to resolve" and you pick the original. Nothing is guessed.
- New: right-click a collection in the Outliner to choose "Remove from this branch only" or "Delete from shot". Deleting from the shot is remembered: a later reconciliation proposes the deletion to other branches, asks when a branch edited the asset, and never brings it back silently. Shared data still used elsewhere stays. Neither option touches the pipeline inputs.
- New: the reconciliation list shows renamed datablocks as a name decision ("Keep my name" / "Name from Spline: Body_spline"), separate from geometry or material changes.
- New: an asset instance missing from your file but intact in another branch appears in the reconciliation list as "absent here" with "Bring back" or "Delete from shot", instead of returning unnoticed.
- Improved: "Since last publish" in the Asset branches section now lists assets removed from the file, instances with changes by name ("Bruno.006: 1 changed"), how many instances are unchanged, and datablocks shared by several instances. Comparisons that cannot be made say so instead of "no changes".
- New: the Asset branches section lists the reconciliations recorded in the file and marks the ones not published yet.
Desktop Helper
- Fixed render nodes going idle while jobs were still queued. A node that missed its wake-up now re-checks the queue by itself, and the farm nudges idle nodes whenever work is waiting, so nobody has to press Retry to get them rendering again.
- Fixed the Animanager MCP silently cutting long revision texts, chat messages and pipeline notes short for agents.
Review mode
- Fixed ZIP and other archive attachments showing a spinner instead of a file icon in the feed, the chat and the composer.
Other
- Improved: Asset changes and History now open in compact, fully styled dialogs with clearer sections, spacing and empty states.
- Fixed: Asset changes can show every entry of removed assets and every unchanged entry, with independent paging for changed and unchanged datablocks.
- Fixed: Asset changes counts shared datablocks once across assets. Different or unknown results in other representations stay visible, with separate counts for each instance.
- Fixed: revision details correctly identify linked assets and comparisons with their source.
- New: every work-file revision card has "Asset changes": pick any revision of the task and any base, then open stage, asset instance and datablock to see what was modified, added, removed, renamed or could not be compared, with exact counts, paging, and a note when a change is shared by several instances.
- New: every work-file revision card has "History": the revisions of the task, where each one comes from, and the reconciliations they published. Open a merge to see its date, base, branches, affected instances and the decision taken for every datablock, including resolved conflicts. Older merges without recorded names say so instead of guessing.
- Fixed: revision details now list renamed datablocks with their previous name, and a revision that reconciled more than 64 times keeps all of its history.
- New: mark the entire feed as read from its header, or right-click a notification to mark that item and every notification from the same user, space or project.
- Improved: the right-click mark-as-read menu now puts notifications from the same user first and clearly labels all notifications in the selected item.
Desktop Helper 1.0.48
Claude knows every tool + exact video frames
Sep 17, 2026
Pipeline
- New: VS Code extension packages (.vsix) can be chosen as a stage's work files and published like any other primary file.
Desktop Helper
- New: the helper can extract exact frames and contact sheets from a video file on this computer for Claude, without the video being on a canvas.
Canvas
- Improved: Claude and other assistants now see the full list of Animanager tools and when to use each one, in every client.
- New: Claude can pull an exact frame from a canvas video at full resolution, build a contact sheet to order (range, number of frames, columns) and cut a segment into a new clip, and place the result on the canvas.
Other
- Fixed: .vsix files can now be attached to chat, comments and revisions, and added to a canvas through the MCP.
Desktop Helper 1.0.47
Helper backs off a slow server + farm queue tools
Sep 17, 2026
Pipeline
- Fixed: publishing a revision, preparing a task's files and Get files no longer fail with "server busy" or "server unavailable" for everyone while the server is verifying or copying large uploads. Storage connections that stop answering are now dropped instead of blocking the rest.
- Fixed: render nodes and Get files no longer fail with a storage "TimeoutError" while the server is busy verifying or copying large uploads, because reading a revision's file list no longer waits behind those transfers.
File management
- Fixed: Get files, Get all files and Share link no longer stay on "Checking files" with no error when the sign-in check never answers. They now fall back to the current session or fail with a clear message.
- Improved: tasks with many published revisions get up to two minutes to load their file index instead of failing after 15 seconds as "server unavailable".
- Fixed: Cancel on "Choose revision files" now stops the request, so Get files works again right away instead of ignoring clicks.
- Fixed: after publishing a revision, the next stage now sees it and can Get files without refreshing the page.
- Improved: while a revision's files are still uploading, the next stage shows "uploading" and Get files says so instead of failing with "No GET-ready .blend found".
- Improved: Get files on a revision with thousands of files (simulation bakes, caches) reads its file index and prepares its download links in a fifth of the server requests, so it stays responsive while the server is busy.
- Fixed: opening the file list of a revision with thousands of files no longer leaves server storage connections hanging when the storage provider stalls mid-read, which could block Get files and publishing for everyone until a restart.
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: while the server is slow, the helper no longer starts a new activity report every few seconds on top of the ones still waiting. It sends one at a time and backs off after a failure, so a busy server is not made busier by every helper in the studio.
- Fixed: render nodes on Windows no longer fail a job with "operation not permitted" right after downloading Blender from the Asset Library.
- New: render job names now include the Blender scene when it is not the default one.
- New: the Farm queue has a search box and can be sorted by newest, oldest or status. Newest first is the default.
- Improved: queue cards are slimmer so more jobs fit on screen. Pause, retry and cancel now sit in the queue header and act on the selected job.
- Improved: a render batch that fails is retried automatically on the farm. It only shows as failed after three attempts.
- Fixed: the Resume button on a cancelled render job now brings it back to the queue instead of failing with "Only paused render jobs can be resumed". The Cancel confirmation also explains how it differs from Pause.
Feed
- Fixed: status-change notifications no longer show "changed the status" without the new status after the comment is edited or updated. Refreshing is no longer needed.
Canvas
- Improved: Claude and other assistants connected through the Animanager MCP can now look at any image at full detail (1024 or 1536 px) instead of only the 512 px thumbnail, so they can judge generations and revisions properly.
- Fixed: mouse-wheel zoom and centering an image (double-click, numpad . or arrow keys) no longer drift to a point off to one side after editing text in a node near the edge. Reopening the canvas is no longer needed.
Other
- New: members with moderation permission can now edit and delete messages, comments and revisions posted by Anibot. The edit button appears on those messages as it does on their own.
- Fixed: the code button in the message composer turns a pasted log or a multi-line selection into a real code block instead of leaving stray backticks.
- Improved: the code button on an empty line opens a code block where Enter adds lines and pastes keep every line and backslash.
- Fixed: file names such as "blender-5.2.0-windows-x64.zip" in a message are no longer turned into links.
- Fixed: changing the status while editing a published revision or comment no longer fails with "Failed to save changes" for members who can post but not edit stages.
- Fixed: editing the status of an older revision no longer shows the stage with that status when a newer message already sets it.
- Improved: reading chat history through the API is limited to your own studios before any permission check, so one unscoped request can no longer tie up the database for everyone.
- Fixed: message search no longer misses long messages where the searched words appear after the first lines, and each result now shows the part of the message around the match.
- Fixed: an @name or a web address inside a code block or inline code no longer mentions that person, shows a link preview or opens the mention dropdown.
- Fixed: signed-in accounts can no longer read or change data of studios they do not belong to through the API. This closes invite tokens, pipelines, presets, timeline blocks, canvases, revisions, chat history, AI summaries, studio API keys and several maintenance actions that answered any studio id.
- Fixed: deleting someone else's message, or editing your own membership row, now answers "forbidden" instead of silently doing nothing.
- Fixed: members removed from a studio (archived) no longer keep reading its render farm, uploads and revision packages with their old session.
- Fixed: the AI generation endpoints check that you belong to the studio before reserving its tokens, so a rejected request can no longer charge another studio.
- Fixed: claiming a render machine that was enrolled in another studio's farm now drops that enrollment instead of carrying it over to the new owner.
Desktop Helper 1.0.46
Render nodes stay online + review metadata
Sep 17, 2026
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: enrolling a machine no longer fails with "Unexpected Animanager server error" when an older entry of the same PC exists on the farm. The old entry is merged into the current one.
- Fixed: render nodes nobody is logged into no longer drop to offline or sit idle after their session expires. The helper keeps its own machine credential alive.
- Fixed: the helper alias saves from the helper window on machines with no web login.
- Improved: a machine that appears twice on the farm (old install, older helper version) is merged into one entry the next time it connects.
- Fixed: render nodes now pick up a replacement Blender ZIP uploaded to the Asset Library. Each upload installs into its own folder, unchanged uploads are reused, and renders already running keep their current copy.
Review mode
- New: a Metadata toggle in the review header shows the revision's frame range, fps, resolution and other pipeline metadata as a semi-transparent, scrollable overlay on the media.
Other
- Fixed: the Render Nodes list keeps a stable order instead of reshuffling every few seconds.
- New: offline machines can be removed from the Render Nodes list. They return on their own if their helper reports again.
- Improved: trying to edit somebody else's message is now rejected with a Forbidden error instead of silently changing nothing.
Desktop Helper 1.0.45

Desktop Helper 1.0.38
New helper: startup fix
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Desktop Helper
- Fixed the helper failing to start after installation.
Desktop Helper 1.0.37
New helper: farm upload fixes, canvas agent frames and Enhance
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Desktop Helper
- New: the helper window lists the render farms this machine is enrolled in and marks the one it is rendering for.
- Fixed: render batches stuck in "Uploading" are uploaded again by the node that rendered them instead of being dropped every time they are handed back to it.
- Fixed: a batch the node gave up on no longer stays in "Uploading" for as long as the helper runs. Its upload lease expires and Retry upload works again.
- Fixed: downloading a job's renders no longer fails with a missing download URL when one batch is still uploading. The finished batches download and the files still uploading are reported.
Canvas
- Fixed time spent and estimation totals appearing in the Canvas tree.
- Removed: the Input fidelity setting on GPT Image nodes. Reference images and Auto quality work as before.
- Improved: a generation the provider rejects for an unsupported setting fails at once instead of being retried unchanged.
- New: the canvas agent can add the Enhance node, read and switch its engine (Topaz, SeedVR2, Real-ESRGAN, SCUNet, Nano Banana, ByteDance, Deband), size and cleanup, and run it.
- Fixed: @mentions in messages and revisions posted by Anibot now tag the team member and notify them.
- New: the canvas agent can organize a canvas with frames: create a named frame around nodes, add and remove members, fit a frame to its content, arrange variants in a grid inside a frame and order frames as blocks, and turn folders and subfolders into frames visible on one plane (and back).
Other
- Improved GIF previews in chat messages with a larger size that fits the available width.
- Fixed main navigation labels to use their original capitalization.
- Improved: workers added without an account are consistently called external workers in Timeline and Finances.
- Improved: the Animanager logo is consistently green across all pages and themes.
Desktop Helper 1.0.36
New helper: render nodes use the scene camera and its masters, plus timing stats per chunk
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: a render node could render a scene through the wrong camera when the scene's camera shares its name with another object in the file (a linked camera and a stale local copy, for example), which changed the framing and showed things outside the shot. Launch render no longer sends a camera name for the scene's own camera, and a node keeps the scene's camera whenever the name matches.
- Fixed: a render node rendered a scene with collections the artist had excluded from it (characters, the hand) because the masters of the other stages were not in place when the scene opened, and Blender forgets what was excluded from a library that is missing at that moment. The package now brings those masters before Blender opens the file, so each scene renders with exactly what the artist left in it.
- Fixed: a render node put the masters of the other stages in the artist's own workspace folder instead of the render package, so they only resolved on machines that happen to have the shot synced and the package pointed at the wrong place afterwards. They now land inside the package on every node.
- New: the STATS popover of a chunk shows two more rows, Preparing (package download, or reused/cached) and Session (Blender start with the addon and the masters, or reused), so download time and render warmup are visible separately for every node.
Desktop Helper 1.0.35
New helper: render nodes start Blender with the addon already in place
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Desktop Helper
- Improved: a render node now starts Blender with the Animanager addon already in place and opens the scene once, instead of loading it, swapping the addon and loading it again. The helper installs its copy of the addon in that Blender's preferences the first time, so later sessions start with it; on a machine where an artist uses that same Blender, it gets the newer addon too.
Desktop Helper 1.0.34
New helper: render nodes bring the masters of the other stages, Launch render fixes, canvas token totals and GPT Image node fixes
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Pipeline
- Fixed: editing a published revision could end with a browser alert "Failed to save changes" and the dialog stuck on Saving, even though the edit was stored. The dialog now closes when the revision is saved, and if the stage status could not be changed a notification says why.
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: in Launch render, Start, End, Scale and the other number boxes could only be changed with the arrows. They can be typed into again; the value applies on Enter or when leaving the box.
- Fixed: a render node rendered a scene without the masters of the other stages it links (FX, Location, Spline...), so the frames came out black. The render session now has the Animanager addon bring the inputs of the stage exactly as it does on an artist's machine (Refresh Upstreams and Reload Masters against the node's package), and a session whose managed inputs are still missing fails the chunk with a message naming them instead of rendering.
- New: a render node whose helper is older than 1.0.34 takes no chunks until it updates, and shows as "Helper outdated" in Render Nodes. Older helpers would render without the masters of the other stages. Update all nodes sends them the update.
- Improved: Launch render lays its sections out in three columns on a wide screen and can use the full window height, so Render region is visible without scrolling.
Canvas
- Fixed: generating with GPT Image 2.5 Flare and a reference image failed with "does not support the input_fidelity parameter", as Sunburst did before. No GPT Image 2.5 model receives that setting now, and the Input fidelity control is gone from the node. GPT Image 2 keeps high fidelity by default when a reference is wired.
- Fixed: GPT Image nodes with many option rows pushed the prompt box past the bottom edge of the node, and a long option label could stick out on the right. The node now grows to fit its rows and option labels are cut inside the control.
- Fixed: the elapsed time on a generating node started at the difference between this computer's clock and the server's, so a clock ten minutes ahead showed "10m" from the first second. The time now follows the server's clock.
- Removed: the Edit mask dropdown on GPT Image nodes. It listed every image on the canvas as "Untitled image" and there is no way to paint a mask here. Claude can still pass a mask when generating.
- Improved: in the info panel of a generated image, Node ID, Media ID, Generator and the references are copied with the same icon button as the prompt, placed on the label line like the prompt's, instead of a "copy" word.
- Removed: the Generate Video block at the bottom of the info panel of a generated image. Videos are made from the video generator nodes.
- New: the canvas toolbar shows, beside Trash and the shortcuts help, the tokens spent generating on that canvas, deleted results included. Clicking it shows the same figure for the item, its collection, its space and its project.
- New: the info panel of a generated image shows the settings the model actually used: the quality it picked when Auto was chosen, the size, the format and the background.
Desktop Helper 1.0.33
New helper + new addon: render nodes keep the addon current, farm previews rebuilt, Rendered viewport crash fixed
Blender add-on 0.6.26
Blender add-on
- Fixed: Blender could crash right after Reload Masters, Replace or Bring as copy when a viewport was in Rendered shading. The addon now pauses viewport renders while it swaps managed inputs, removes the old data in one batch and rebuilds the scene graph before the viewport draws again.
- Fixed: the addon offered 0.6.25 as an update on machines that already had it, and applying that update failed with a version mismatch. The addon now reports its own version correctly to the update check.
Desktop Helper
- New: a render node checks that the Animanager Blender addon is active in the Blender it renders with. If the addon is missing, or older than the published one, the helper downloads the current addon and enables it for the render, so linked inputs and light linking render as they do on the artist's machine. A node that cannot get the addon fails the chunk with a clear message instead of rendering it wrong.
- Improved: render previews are shrunk on the node before upload (longest side 1280 px, lighter JPEG, about a third of the size) and each one gets a small thumbnail for the Farm slider. Thumbnails are no longer made inside Blender.
- Improved: Get renders opens the job's own Renders folder instead of the Farm folder above it, and downloads the way Get files does for revisions: small files 32 at a time, big frames a few at a time in parallel byte ranges. A download that stops receiving data for a minute is dropped and retried instead of holding the whole batch. Preview downloads use the same 32 at a time.
- Improved: previews are always made by the render session itself right after each frame; the setting that could defer or switch them off on a node is gone, and a frame that still ends up without a preview is reported in the helper log.
- Fixed: after a scrub, the frame left on screen stayed at thumbnail quality. The viewer now keeps two images per frame, the thumbnail for scrubbing and the full preview for the frame that stays on screen, and repaints at full size as soon as the scrub ends.
- Improved: opening a job in Farm fetches all its thumbnails first, so the whole timeline can be scrubbed within seconds, then the full previews replace them one by one, starting at the frame on screen. Downloads run eight at a time. Jobs rendered before thumbnails existed get theirs cut locally.
- Fixed: a crash or power cut while the helper was writing its claim-request file could leave that file unreadable, and from then on the render node on that machine never took any work ("tick failed" every minute in the helper log). The helper now sets the file aside and carries on.
- Improved: the helper's Storage panel refreshes its sizes on its own every 30 seconds while the window is open, so a cache that is filling up shows its real size without pressing Refresh.
- New: the helper's Storage panel lists a "Farm previews" cache with the preview images of the jobs opened in Farm. It can be cleared at any time; anything needed again is downloaded again.
- Fixed: a render node asked Cycles for every GPU backend at once (CUDA, OptiX, HIP, oneAPI, Metal), which loaded AMD's HIP runtime on NVIDIA machines and printed "HIPEW initialization failed". The node now probes only the backend it is about to use, OptiX first and CUDA as fallback. Support can pin the order on a machine with the ANIMANAGER_CYCLES_BACKENDS environment variable.
Canvas
- Fixed: generating with GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and a reference image failed with "does not support the input_fidelity parameter". Sunburst no longer receives that setting, and its Input fidelity control is hidden. Flare and GPT Image 2 keep it.
Other
- Fixed: farm previews turned black after about an hour, or after the helper restarted, because their local links expired. Preview links are now permanent while the file is in the helper's cache.
- Improved: farm previews now come from one place only. Opening a job in Farm mirrors every preview the job has in the cloud into the helper's "Farm previews" cache, in the background and with no limit, and keeps adding new frames as chunks finish. The frame on screen is fetched first. The Sync previews button, the preview folders inside task workspaces and the local EXR to preview conversion are gone.
- Fixed: scrubbing quickly through the timeline right after switching jobs could flash frames of another job, and a job could show more frames than its range with another job's images beyond it. The panel and its frame memory now belong to one job at a time, the timeline is always the job's own range, and previews outside that range are ignored wherever they come from.
- Improved: jobs whose previews were already in the cache before thumbnails existed get thumbnails cut locally on the next visit, so the slider scrubs through small files there too.
- Fixed: a fast scrub froze on the last painted frame. Every thumbnail of the job is kept in memory and a frame that is not there yet is fetched from the helper on the spot.
- Fixed: a preview that failed to load showed a black frame with no message. The reason is now shown over the image.
- Fixed: a finished job whose chunks have nothing more to fetch kept showing "Syncing latest previews" every minute. The helper is only asked again when the chunk list changes.
- Fixed: a farm frame without a preview on this computer showed a black image with no explanation. It now says that the frame has no preview here yet, or why it could not load.
- Improved: anyone with access to the Render Farm module can create enrollment codes for new render machines. Update all nodes still requires studio settings permission.
Desktop Helper 1.0.32
New helper + new addon: render nodes enroll and upload on their own, GPT Image options, light linking kept
Blender add-on 0.6.25
Blender add-on
- Fixed: linked characters keep their light and shadow linking collections when reopening a scene or reloading a master.
- Fixed: a linked character that opened with a missing master reloads when its file becomes available again, even if the version has not changed.
Desktop Helper
- New canvas tools for Claude and Codex: create folders, move nodes into a folder or back to the root, list the studio's assets and bring one onto the canvas.
- Fixed: installing Blender from the Asset Library on a render node could fail on Windows with a permissions error right after extracting. The helper now waits and retries, keeps a Blender that another helper installed meanwhile, and no longer mistakes a half-extracted folder for an installed Blender. The failure message now says why the download or install failed.
- Improved: a downloaded helper update installs as soon as the render node goes idle instead of waiting for the next restart, and active render work is handed back to the farm before the helper restarts.
- New: a render machine can upload its frames and previews with its own machine credential. A machine no longer needs anyone logged in to Animanager to keep rendering, and logging out of the web app no longer stops render nodes.
- Improved: the machine credential lasts 90 days and renews itself with an overlap, so a node that misses a renewal keeps working.
- New: a machine is one render node whoever logs in on it. The last person to log in becomes its owner; older duplicate entries of the same machine are retired and keep their farm settings.
- New: Enroll a machine from Farm with a one-time code. The button opens a guide that explains how to install Animanager Helper on the machine, paste the code under "Join a render farm" and see the machine appear in Render Nodes. No login is needed on the machine.
- New: Update all nodes in Farm asks every machine of the studio that is reporting right now to install the latest helper update as soon as it is not rendering. Machines that are switched off are not counted.
- Improved: when a render node cannot reach or authenticate with the farm, the helper log now says so instead of pausing silently.
- Fixed: a long upload of rendered frames could time out after 30 minutes even while the node was still uploading. The node now keeps the upload window open while it reports in.
- Improved: a chunk whose previews did not all reach the cloud says so in the job details ("previews 10/12" or "previews failed") instead of leaving a black preview with no explanation.
- New: Retry upload on a chunk whose frames are already rendered re-sends them from the node instead of rendering the chunk again.
- Improved: render nodes whose helper was revoked or that have not reported for a month disappear from the Render Nodes list on their own, and come back the moment the machine reports again.
- Improved: a render node keeps working for the studios it is enrolled in whoever logs in on the machine. When someone from another studio logs in, the helper window and log say that the machine still renders for the other studio.
- Improved: the helper's machine credential is kept in the system's protected storage (Windows DPAPI, macOS Keychain) instead of a plain text file.
- Improved: the farm preview slider scrubs through small thumbnails and only loads the selected frame at full size, instead of downloading every full-size preview of the job up front.
- New: the helper window shows the machine ID (click to copy), and the same ID appears on each node in Farm, so a machine can be told apart from the list and named in support requests.
- Improved: a machine enrolled in several studios renders for the studio it has open and, when that studio has nothing to do, takes work from the other studios in turn.
- Fixed: the Active filter in Render Nodes listed every machine that was online, including ones switched off the farm. Active now means enabled and reporting, and the list narrows the moment the filter or a node switch changes.
- Improved: Enroll a machine puts Create a one-time code front and centre, shows the code large with a Copy button, and moves the Helper download to a secondary link.
- Improved: the Enroll a machine and Update all nodes buttons in Render Nodes now look like the other Farm buttons and explain on hover that Windows nodes update on their own every 6 hours.
Canvas
- Fixed: a video that Claude put on the canvas (a file from this computer, a URL, or a revision of another stage) always got a 16:9 node, so a portrait clip played with black bars at the sides. The node now takes the clip's own shape, and the clip's length is stored with it.
- Fixed: copying and pasting nodes (also Duplicate and Alt-drag) moved every copied cable to input 1 of the new node. Cables keep the input they were plugged into.
Other
- New: GPT Image nodes get auto, extra high and maximum quality, auto or exact output dimensions, transparent backgrounds, JPEG and WebP output, input fidelity and edit masks. Quality defaults to auto, where the model picks the tier per prompt.
- Removed: the Style Template dropdown on image generation nodes.
- New: canvas agents can set the same GPT Image options when writing a prompt or generating.
- Improved: GPT Image token estimates follow the model, quality and output dimensions.
- Improved: GPT Image edits now default to high input fidelity, so a wired reference keeps its faces and style unless Low is chosen on the node.
- Fixed: in chat, a command or path wrapped in backticks lost its code formatting when it contained a web address. The whole backtick span now shows as code, and addresses inside backticks are not turned into links.
- Improved: a pasted log or snippet whose lines each arrive wrapped in backticks now shows as one collapsible code block in chat and comments, instead of a long list of code lines.
- Improved: Python and Blender console output (timestamps, tracebacks, "Missing file" lines) is recognised as a log when pasted, so long logs are collapsed.
- Fixed: code blocks that merely mention "from" or "where" were labelled SQL.
- Fixed: deleting a revision could leave its worked time in the timesheet and in the day's total shown in the header. The time is now removed together with the message. If the revision is the selected master, choose Follow latest first. If the time cannot be removed, the message is kept and an error is shown.
- Fixed: a revision whose work files had already been attached by the desktop helper could not be deleted. Deleting it now releases those work files and removes the revision and its time.
- Improved: deleting a project, space, collection, item or message no longer keeps the dialog open while the server finishes. It disappears at once, and comes back with an error message if the deletion fails.
- New: the Render Nodes list in Farm can be filtered by Active (machines reporting right now), Inactive (switched off, old installs, revoked helpers) or All. Active is the default, and nodes whose helper was revoked are labelled.
- Fixed: farm previews could stay black after reopening a finished job until the slider was moved, and a preview whose link had expired was never refreshed.
- Fixed: one missing preview file no longer hides every preview of the job.
- Fixed: a chunk that was fully rendered but never uploaded could stay in Uploading forever. Its node can now resume the upload regardless of past render attempts, and after a day without an upload the chunk is re-rendered elsewhere or marked failed.
- Improved: Features sections have consistent, more generous spacing around headings, images and section boundaries.
- Improved: Features explains the canvas, production grid, planning, files, editor, review and remote work with blue-theme illustrations based on Animanager's interface. Images use fictional project data and focus on the relevant controls.

- Improved: homepage use cases use a compact selector with one detailed panel, keeping all eight workflows easy to explore.
- New: Cards offers an editable Showcase layout with keyboard navigation.
- Fixed: reducing hero opacity reveals the page background instead of a black backdrop. Its dark overlay fades with the media.
- New: hero image and video opacity can be adjusted independently of the text and buttons.
- New: hero videos can play once and hold their final frame instead of looping. Supported for uploaded and direct videos.
- Fixed: Start free opens the login dialog without reloading the website.
- New: pipeline steps support an hourglass icon to show waiting and time lost switching tools.
- Improved: use-case pipelines reflect each project's stages and team needs, from a solo illustration to a multi-department CGI production.

- New: cards support editable link lists, used to organise the website footer.
- Improved: featured pricing buttons can use a subtle gradient shine without glitter particles.
- Improved: website accents, gradients and featured pricing use Animanager's blue palette.
- New: website pages explain Animanager's production features, creative workflows, use cases and plans.
- Fixed: website calls to action open login and app support at the correct address.
- Fixed: opening the local app could fail after a separate preview invalidated its cached dependencies.
- Improved: featured pricing buttons stand out with a coloured gradient, shimmering light and glitter, with editable colours.
- Improved: featured pricing plans have their own gradients, glow, shine, glass and hover effects, independent of the other plans.
- Improved: website pricing explains Free, Creator, Pro and Enterprise, with included storage, AI tokens and clear monthly prices.
- Improved: website comparison highlights faster team onboarding and explains how Desktop Helper prepares work files.
- New: table cells can show partial availability in yellow, with explanations on hover, keyboard focus or touch. Edit explanations for one or several cells at once.
- Improved: comparison marks have no badges, and partial availability uses a simple amber dash.
- Improved: website comparison focuses on production stages, files and chat in context, creative tools, live collaboration and automatic planning, with explanations of each product's coverage.
- Improved: website tables use a compact editor with clearer contrast and cells for text, ticks, crosses and dashes, with colour, bold and badge styles.
- New: select multiple table cells to apply the same text, tick, cross or formatting in one action.
- Fixed: pictures and videos attached to chat messages and comments could stay on a loading spinner forever after posting, and older chat attachments could stop showing. Attachments load again.
- Fixed: an avatar could stay enlarged after the mouse had moved away from it.
- Fixed: audio files in the feed showed a spinner forever. They now show an audio tile, like PDFs do.
- Improved: videos up to 4 GB can be attached to chat messages and comments (the limit was 500 MB). When a file is over a limit, the message now says the limit and the file's size.
- Improved: home workflow previews put practical benefits beside compact imagery, with clearer section and subsection headings on use case pages.
- New: film production examples show Get files with dependencies, frame annotations, revision comparison and artist scheduling. AI production includes a shared canvas, lighting variations and a short video.
- Improved: use cases explain automatic scheduling, connected updates and files, and Blender previs guiding AI video with character and location assets.
- Removed: the Fashion & lookbooks section and the repetitive four-photo lifestyle row from the use-case page.
- Improved: the freelancer use case highlights organised files, revision history, fewer subscriptions and faster client revisions.
- Improved: campaign and lifestyle examples use compact image strips below their introduction. The final invitation has a coloured gradient background.
- Improved: use-case section buttons are centred, and the workflow directory is repeated at the bottom of the page.
- Fixed: the introduction separator no longer touches the last line of text when custom spacing is used.
- New: the website has two product pages, Production and AI. Each walks through one fictional short step by step, with illustrated screens, three generated keyframes and three short clips, and ends with its own pricing. Pricing shows one Pro plan per seat with a monthly / yearly switch, the token packs, the extra storage price and the Enterprise add-ons.
- Improved: the website's pricing tables come from the billing catalogue, so a price change in the superadmin pricing table reaches the site with one refresh instead of manual edits.
- New: a Pro seat can be billed monthly or yearly. Yearly costs 24 EUR per seat per month instead of 29 EUR.
- New: every new studio receives 100 welcome AI tokens once. Plans no longer include a monthly token allowance; tokens are bought in packs of 1,000, 5,000 or 20,000 at a discount, and purchased tokens never expire.
- Removed: the Creator, Creator Pro and Creator Max plans. Pro now includes 250 GB per seat.
- New: extra storage has one fixed price per terabyte and month, add as many as you need, in Pricing and in Billing. Buying it from the app arrives in a later release; contact support to add storage now.
- New: Use cases in the website menu opens a dropdown with every workflow, grouped as Film & production, Products & content, Creative commissions and Games & assets. Each use case has its own page with its own address, ready to share and to be found by search engines.
- Improved: the Use cases entry leads to a short index with the directory and the questions instead of one very long page. The long page is kept out of the menu.
- New: website pages can hang from another menu entry (Navigation parent and Navigation group in the page settings), which is how the dropdown is built.
Desktop Helper 1.0.31
New helper: Claude and Codex go to production, and tokens replace AI costs
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Desktop Helper
- New Animanager bot member in every studio, ready for the Claude and Codex integrations to post on your behalf. Bots do not count as seats and never appear in rosters, pickers, mentions, the timeline, finances or notifications.
- New production tools for Claude and Codex: read a stage with its revisions, thread and canvases, an item, a space, or a thread page, and estimate the cost of a batch before running it.
- New bot publishing from Claude and Codex: a revision or a chat message signed "Anibot" with your name opening the body, only when you ask for it and with the status you choose. No hours are recorded for the bot.
- New canvas action for agents that places a revision or any accessible media on the item canvas as a reference node.
- New guided workflows in the Claude and Codex connection: brief, stage-to-stage, item report and continuity check.
- New video, Enhance, SFX, background removal and Image to 3D runs from Claude and Codex, with the same references and settings the canvas button uses.
- Improved generating from Claude and Codex: one call adds the generator, places and wires the references, writes the prompt and runs it, and status checks can wait for the result instead of polling.
- New "Generate a stage" in the space menu: produce one stage from another for every item of the space (references placed, generators wired, one prompt, optional publish) as a server job with cost estimate and live progress.
- New job tools for Claude and Codex that launch and follow the same stage-to-stage runs.
- Improved canvas listing for Claude and Codex: compact by default, with search and space filters.
- New pipeline metadata for Claude and Codex: stages and items show their metadata fields with values, and the agent can set them when you ask.
- Fixed stage status not refreshing in open trees when a revision is published by the bot from Claude or Codex.
- Improved Get files. Any file already on this computer with the same content is cloned instead of downloaded, whichever task or folder it lives in, after checking it still matches.
Canvas
- New GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and GPT Image 2.5 Flare in the image generator, for precise edits and fast drafts, at the same price as GPT Image 2. Sunburst is now the default model of a new image generator.
- Removed Prompt Generator. Existing prompts, references and generator settings are preserved.
Review mode
- Improved shared review entry. Join as a guest or log in with Animanager. Signed-in reviewers use their account without entering a name again.
- Improved shared review invitations with a visual preview and a guest name field available immediately.
- Improved shared review preview cards with straight layouts and colors that follow your theme.
- Improved shared review previews with contrasting accents for annotations and the current frame marker.
- Fixed shared reviews opening dark after visiting the homepage. Reviews open in light mode and restore your previous theme when you leave.
- Improved shared review entry with a clearer name field and distinct, readable buttons.
Other
- New avatar zoom. Hover any avatar to see it at double size.
- New public privacy, terms and support pages, with access from sign-in and shared links.
- New email contact for support, billing and privacy requests.
- Improved legal pages with the registered office and company registry details.
- New AI tokens. One token is one euro cent on every plan, each generation shows its token price, and plan tokens renew monthly.
- New token packs from Billing, paid once through Stripe, that never expire and are shared by the whole studio.
- New automatic recharge that buys your chosen pack with the saved card when the studio balance runs low.
- Improved pricing page with the Creator, Pro and Enterprise lineup and the live token price table.
- Removed the per-request AI allowance and the "allow extra AI costs" switch, replaced by prepaid tokens.
- Improved every canvas generator, enhance engine and generation history entry to show token prices instead of provider costs in dollars or euros.
- New billing accounts. A paying studio can bill other studios it creates through the same account: one subscription, seats counted once per person, one storage pool and one token balance.
- Improved Billing with the list of studios in the account, attach and detach controls, and a banner on studios billed through another account.
- New Prices panel in superadmin: every cost and user price (plans, tokens, packs, storage, per-model prices) is editable and applies live without a deploy.
- Improved token prices: every option of every generator (model, resolution, provider, quality) has its own price, shown as a fixed number on the Generate button and in the public price table.
- Improved privacy policy with a full list of what Animanager keeps in your browser, so no cookie banner is needed.
- Improved terms of service with eligibility, liability and governing law sections.
- Fixed placeholder icon on public pages, the install prompt and desktop notifications, which now use the official Animanager logo.
- Fixed inconsistent "AniManager" spelling in the app header, titles and user guide.
- Improved error diagnostics so shared review, file and invite link tokens never appear in reports.
Desktop Helper 1.0.30
New helper: Codex joins Claude, and video reads that no longer stall
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Desktop Helper
- New: OpenAI Codex can work on your canvases like Claude does. Downloads has an "OpenAI Codex" entry: one click adds the Animanager MCP to Codex (CLI and app) through the helper. With an older helper it copies the command to paste instead.
Canvas
- Fixed: asking Claude for the frames or the file of a freshly generated video failed and could take the server down for everyone for a minute. Frames now come back in a couple of seconds, the cuts and contact sheet are prepared in the background, and Claude says when to ask again for them.
- Fixed: Claude's tool errors now say which server could not be reached and why, instead of a bare "fetch failed".
- Fixed: a pasted or dropped image could stay on "Loading media... Resolving preview" until the page was reloaded when the server hiccuped right after the upload. The canvas now asks for the picture's link again on its own.
Desktop Helper 1.0.29
New helper, canvas panels, and two studios side by side
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: the Claude Desktop extension (Animanager Canvas) disconnected right after starting on current Claude Desktop versions. Download it again from Downloads and reinstall it in Claude Desktop.
- Improved: with two browser windows open on different studios, the helper no longer flips its studio to whichever window reported last. It follows the Farm page when one is open, otherwise the window you used last, and it does not switch while a render is running.
Canvas
- New Enhance submenu in the right-click menu of an image or video. Pick any Enhance engine and the result is queued straight away with the engine's defaults, no node needed. Prices are shown next to each engine.
- New chat panel in the canvas window, next to the assets panel. Pick a stage of the item and the full stage chat opens there: read the thread, post feedback or publish a revision without leaving the canvas.
- New "Attach to chat" in the right-click menu of an image or video in the canvas window. The media goes into the chat composer as an attachment, ready to post or to publish as part of a revision.
- New Generations panel in the canvas window. Everything generated on the canvas, newest first, with model, cost, prompt, author and status. A slider widens it to the collection, space, project or whole studio, with Everyone/Mine and Images/Videos filters. Click a generation to see it on its canvas, drag a result onto the open canvas, copy its prompt or run its generator again.
- Fixed: with two browser windows open on different studios, saving a canvas could fail with "not authorized" because new elements were tagged with the other window's studio. Elements now always belong to the studio of their item.
- Fixed: the canvas clipboard no longer pastes elements copied in another studio.
Timeline
- Fixed: replan settings and the manual queue order are now kept per studio, so two windows on different studios no longer share them.
Other
- Fixed: with two browser windows open on different studios, an avatar uploaded from user settings could land in the other window's studio.
- Fixed: the Canvas tab in the header could open the last board of another studio.
Desktop Helper 1.0.28
Animanager without the Helper, Deband, and Claude that fixes its own nodes
Blender add-on 0.6.24
File management
- Improved large-download guidance with an illustrated Helper introduction, direct installer download and a return to the selected files. Connecting the Helper continues with the same selection.
- Fixed Get files waiting for the Helper before opening. Browser downloads are available immediately.
- Fixed browser downloads of small files stored together, including cache files in nested folders.
- Improved revision file browsing and download preparation by reusing the loaded file index and skipping unrelated change-history reads.
- Fixed small revision downloads scanning the entire file list before preparing the selected files.
- Improved browser file dialogs with compact layouts, file drop areas and visible transfer progress.
- Fixed file browsing staying in a loading state after an interrupted request. Downloads and file lists now offer a retry when a request takes too long.
- New browser downloads for revision files when the Helper is unavailable. Download individual files or selected folders as a ZIP.
- New individual downloads from Files without the Helper. Repeated downloads do not depend on local workspace checks.
- New manual work-file uploads without the Helper, including Blender files. Suggested file formats do not restrict manual uploads.
- New browser upload progress, cancellation and retry. A reminder warns you to keep the tab open until the transfer finishes.
- Improved starting a task without the Helper with a path to upload work created in your own application.
Desktop Helper
- Fixed Escape closing a background dialog instead of the Helper explanation in front.
- Fixed the Claude media lookup by id failing with a server error. Asking Claude how a canvas media was made now works, and upscaled videos list the clip they were made from.
- New Claude canvas tools to switch an existing generator to another model of its family and to remove an empty generator or text note it added by mistake. Media can still never be deleted from Claude.
- Improved the Blender activity connection prompt inside Team Activity.
- Fixed Claude connection options treating a previously seen Helper as a current connection.
- Improved the Helper status button with a direct install or update action.
- Improved task preparation and local folder explanations with diagrams connecting your pipeline to the folders on your computer.
- New contextual Helper introduction explains desktop features and lets you connect and continue your action.
- Improved Helper dialogs with illustrated workflows, concise explanations of why each action needs it, and connection steps. Optional desktop features explain their browser alternatives.
- Improved Helper dialogs to explain additional benefits for task folders, work-file dependencies and desktop transfers.
- Improved guidance for timeline export, complete task downloads, local folders and production inputs when the Helper is unavailable.
- Improved Claude connection options to explain the Helper integration instead of leaving unavailable controls disabled.
- New introductions to connected computers and sharing Blender activity with your team.
Canvas
- Fixed videos on the canvas resuming playback on their own after being paused or finished, when the node scrolled out of view and back in.
- Fixed the ByteDance video upscale in the Enhance node interpolating every clip to 60 fps. The upscaled video now keeps the frame rate of the original, and its cost estimate no longer assumes the cheaper rate when the source runs above 30 fps.
- New Deband option in the Enhance node, under ffmpeg scripts. It smooths the banding that compressed video leaves in soft gradients, on videos and images, at the same resolution and for free.
Timeline
- New manual Blender marker import. Choose a local file and scene without installing the Helper.
- Fixed Blender marker extraction failures giving no visible feedback.
- Fixed recovered editor playback keeping a remote media URL after the Helper connection fails.
Other
- Fixed Enter inserting a new line instead of sending chat messages on mobile.
- Fixed Enter creating a separate personal note on mobile, including touch keyboards. Shift+Enter still adds a line within a note.
- Fixed the mobile notes + button revealing and focusing the new note, even while searching or scrolled down.
- Fixed chat status bars updating immediately when revisions are published or removed.
- New space chat status bars show one block per item for a quick view of the work in that space.
- Improved space chat status bars to follow the active item filters.
- Fixed aggregated chat budget bars showing full totals above 999.9 hours.
- Fixed space chat bars excluding items filtered out by status, collection, artist or item filters.
- Fixed completed items appearing as pending in space chat bars because of stages outside the active workflow. Filters now refresh as statuses load or change.
- Fixed space chat budgets using the same automatic estimates as item and stage chats when no estimate has been set.
- Improved space chat bars to fill the available width with one equally sized block per filtered item. Each item's small bar shows its own budget usage, including items with no work logged yet.
- Improved space chat bars to use WIP blue instead of individual stage colors.
- Removed the global budget legend from space chat bars. Each item's budget remains in its small bar and tooltip.
- Fixed space chat blocks inheriting stage labels and colors such as CLIENT instead of showing the item's budget usage.
- Improved space chat blocks to turn red when an item exceeds its total budget, orange when only a stage exceeds its budget, and WIP blue otherwise. Automatic estimates count too.
- Improved space chat tooltips with one row per stage, showing its own budget bar, worked hours, automatic estimates and overruns.
- Fixed stage budget bars lining up across tooltip rows.
- Fixed stages without a manual or automatic budget incorrectly turning space chat blocks orange.
- Improved initial space chat loading by skipping unnecessary automatic-budget requests and updating the bar without redrawing the chat for each result.
- Improved stage budget details with left-aligned hours and overrun amounts for easier reading.
- Improved space budget loading with a single batch of statistics and one complete update instead of one update per item.
- Improved space tooltips to reuse the item and stage budget bars, including revision segments and Feedback/Done markers.
- Improved space tooltips to load revision history only when hovering an item, without fetching videos or thumbnails.
- Removed loading text from budget tooltips so their layout stays steady while revision history loads.
- Improved item chat tooltips with the full stage budget bar, revision segments and Feedback/Done markers, loaded on hover.
- Improved space budget colors to blend from blue to orange to red as more stages exceed their budgets. Stages without a budget do not count as overruns.
- Fixed spaces without stages showing a budget loading error. Their budget bar is now hidden and no budget request is made.
Desktop Helper 1.0.27
Claude acts as you, media IDs with provenance and long renders that finish
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: Claude always acts as the person signed in to the helper on this computer. Credentials stored in the MCP settings of a shared Claude account no longer take over.
- Improved: Claude says who it is acting as whenever it looks at the open canvas.
- Fixed: Claude could fail to read a canvas with several wired references because the reply was too large. Pictures now come in pages that fit the limit, and Claude asks for the next page instead of losing any.
Canvas
- New: the info panel of a generated image or video shows its node ID, its media ID, the generator it came from and every reference it was made from, each with a copy button.
- Improved: the badge a node shows on hover now carries its unique ID next to the short handle, and clicking it copies that ID. Claude accepts that ID wherever it accepts a handle.
- New: Claude can look any media up by its ID alone and tell where it sits and how it was made (model, prompt, settings, cost and references).
- Fixed: MiniMax H3 and Seedance renders that take longer than 15 minutes no longer fail with "generation timed out". The render keeps going and the result lands when it is ready.
- Fixed: a prompt written by Claude (or any change made outside this tab) could stay invisible in an open canvas and be overwritten by the next save. The canvas now catches up on outside changes even when live updates are unavailable.
Desktop Helper 1.0.26
Claude adds files and nodes to the canvas, asset scope, safer Generate
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Canvas
- New: Claude can put files on the canvas: a render, a playblast or a screenshot from this computer, or any file at a URL, lands as an image, video or file node with its own size.
- New: Claude can add generation nodes for any model in the catalogue, ready to wire and prompt.
- New: a scope slider under the assets search, in the side panel and in Add asset, narrows the list to the assets made in this item, its collection, its space, its project, or the whole studio. The choice is remembered per studio.
- Improved: a generation node with an empty prompt no longer generates. Generate stays off until a prompt is written, so a connected input alone cannot start a render by accident.
- Fixed: when Claude was not allowed to run a generator, the canvas filled with "Generating..." boxes that never finished while Claude retried. It is now told why before anything is created, and any placeholders that cannot be queued are removed.
Desktop Helper 1.0.25
Claude works on Windows and finds the helper on its own
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: Claude could not connect to the helper on Windows. The Claude Desktop extension and the Claude Code command now work on Windows.
- Improved: the Claude Code command in Downloads uses the real install location of the running helper, so custom install folders work.
- Improved: the Claude Desktop extension finds the installed helper on its own, on Mac and Windows, wherever it is installed.
- Improved: Claude connects to the helper faster.
Desktop Helper 1.0.24
Claude on the canvas, asset frames and the timeline save bar
Blender add-on 0.6.24
Blender add-on
- Fixed: reloading an asset now puts back the action slot the rig was using, so the animation plays right after the reload instead of showing the action with no slot selected.
Desktop Helper
- New: the helper shares its signed-in session with the Animanager MCP on this computer, so Claude can work on your canvases without any extra login.
- New: the helper knows which canvases you have open in the browser, so Claude can work on "this canvas" and "the selected generator" without being told which.
- New: Claude can work on your canvases. The helper now carries the Animanager MCP: in Downloads (profile menu), Claude Desktop extension installs it with one click, or Claude Code copies the command to add it. No extra login or setup. Claude can read a canvas, name references, write validated prompts, wire, move and arrange nodes, and run image generators, always reporting the estimated cost. It never deletes nodes or media.
- New: ask Claude for any picture or file on the canvas, including what it just generated, and it hands you a link you can open.
- Improved: Claude reads a connected reference video properly: a contact sheet with timestamps, the cuts detected automatically, its length, and frames of any stretch on request. It is also told how to treat a blocking animatic when it writes a prompt.
- Improved: Claude no longer loses track of the generator it just read. Writing the prompt or generating without naming a node goes to the selected generator, else the one Claude read last, else the one the selected reference feeds.
Canvas
- Fixed: naming a video reference no longer covers its timeline. The name now sits on the top edge of the video.
- New: hover a canvas node to see the name Claude uses for it (G3, M7) and click it to copy, so you can tell Claude exactly which node you mean.
- New: MiniMax H3 Max in the MiniMax video node. A 5 second clip in seconds, at 480P or 768P. H3 stays for 2K and 4K finals.
- New: MiniMax H3 now offers 480P and 4K.
- Fixed: MiniMax cost estimates now follow fal's real prices, including reference images and, on H3 Max, reference video tokens.
- Fixed canvases that stopped saving without warning you.
- Improved saving so one rejected item no longer keeps the whole board from saving.
- Fixed the prompt generator asking you for images that are already wired into the generator.
- New: Open canvas opens the board in its own browser tab, with the app header on top and a Canvas tab in the navigation to get back to the last board you had open.
- New: a tree panel docked to the left of the canvas lists the projects, spaces and items of the studio, opened on the current item's branch. Click an item to switch boards. Each item shows how many elements its canvas holds.
- New: drag an item from the tree onto the canvas to copy its whole board into a new folder (same media, no duplicates). Drag elements from the canvas onto a tree item to move them there, or hold Alt to copy them.
- New: an assets panel docked to the right of the canvas lists the studio's assets with thumbnails and a search box. Drag an asset onto the board to place it.
- Improved: assets are now defined by a frame. Set as asset drops an asset frame inside the folder (wrapping what is already there) and opens it: everything inside that frame, images, videos, AI nodes, connections and nested folders, is the asset, laid out exactly as it will be placed. No more Asset output node or wiring.
- Improved: placing an asset copies its frame and everything inside it, ready to use and connect, instead of a fixed grid of thumbnails. Clicking the placed frame goes to the original.
- Improved: the asset frame stands out with a multicolour ring and an ASSET tag. It moves and resizes like any frame but cannot be deleted; unsetting the asset is the only way it goes, and what it held stays in the folder.
- New: right-click an asset in the assets panel for Edit original, which opens the folder that authors it, and Deactivate asset, which asks first and then retires it, leaving its folder as a plain folder.
- Fixed: copying elements on one board and pasting them on another board or in another tab now pastes the real elements. An AI node no longer lands as a text box reading its type and id, and a group of images, videos and nodes pastes whole, with its connections, instead of a single item.
- Fixed: copying on a board no longer fills the system clipboard with technical text. A copied selection puts its first image on the clipboard as a picture, so Photoshop, a chat or a mail get the image, and pasting it back on any board still brings the whole group with its connections.
- Fixed: placing an asset gave it a solid, opaque frame. It now arrives with the same translucent fill as any frame drawn by hand.
- Fixed: duplicating with Alt+drag now keeps the connections between the duplicated elements, so a frame dragged out with Alt comes with its wiring, like Duplicate does.
- Fixed: the tree docked to the canvas now has its right-click menus and settings gears back (create items, settings, workflows...), the same as the tree in the main app.
- Improved: boards with hundreds of images and videos open much faster. Every uploaded image now gets its thumbnail at upload time, boards ask for any missing thumbnails a screenful at a time instead of one by one, and a small picture painted from its original swaps to the thumbnail as soon as it exists. Thumbnails and video posters arrive with the board instead of being requested one by one, the browser keeps what it already downloaded instead of fetching the same picture again on every visit, videos show a still frame without opening a player each, and the background download of every original file is gone.
- Improved: panning, zooming, dragging and box-selecting on big boards is much smoother. Only the elements that changed repaint, elements just outside the screen stream in as you pan instead of appearing in a burst when you let go, and zooming out no longer re-downloads pictures it already has.
- New: media can be served through a Cloudflare edge worker (set up once by the studio admin) for stable, cached image sizes; boards then load the small rendition of each picture directly.
- New: Seedance 2.0 Standard can generate in 4K. Pick 4K in the node's Resolution menu; the estimated cost next to Generate updates before you run it (about five times the 720p price). Mini, Fast and 2.5 stay at 720p.
- Fixed: choosing Seedance 2.5 in the node actually generated with Seedance 2.0 Fast (and billed it as Fast). 2.5 now runs as 2.5, and the info panel of the finished video names the model that really ran instead of switching to Fast once the render lands.
- New: the info panel of a Seedance video shows the resolution it was generated at (480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K).
- New: with several images or videos selected, the right-click menu offers Download N files (each on its own) or Download as ZIP, one archive with all of them, built for you and downloaded in one go.
- Improved: the right-click menu of a selection is shorter. Download is the first entry, and everything the toolbar already offers (delete, duplicate, copy, cut, opacity, arrange, connections, snap to grid, center on selection, undo, redo) is gone from the menu. Text alignment only shows when the selection has text.
- Fixed: the Canvas tab in the header now remembers the last board you had open, in any session and whether you opened it as a popup or in its own tab, and opens it with the breadcrumb filled in and the tree expanded on that item's branch. Before, on a fresh load it did nothing.
Review mode
- Fixed: after clicking the progress bar to jump around a video, Space no longer stopped pausing it (and the arrow keys nudged the bar by a millisecond instead of stepping frames). The player shortcuts now keep working until you click into a text field.
Timeline
- New: the timeline no longer saves every move on its own. Drag, resize, duplicate and delete freely, then press Save (or Ctrl/Cmd+S) to publish everything at once, or Discard to go back to what is on the server.
- Improved: unsaved timeline changes survive scrolling, live updates from teammates and switching pages, and the app warns before you close the tab with unsaved work.
- Improved: Replan and AI assignments save your pending timeline changes first, so they always plan on what you see.
- Improved: the Save bar is centered at the bottom of the timeline, with the selected task's budget dock floating right above it.
- New: tasks without an estimation show an automatic one in the timeline budget dock, taken from the collection's average on similar done tasks (the same suggestion Stats offers). The budget bar uses it provisionally, marked "auto", and one click on Set keeps it.
- Improved: automatic estimates also work for assets and any item without a video: when there is no shot duration to measure pace, the average hours spent on the same stage across the collection (or the space) are used instead. Stats' "Set estimates from collection averages" gains the same fallback.
- New: the worked part of the budget bar is split per revision, oldest first, each stretch painted with the color of the status that revision was posted with. Hover a stretch to see the revision, its status, hours, date, author, media thumbnails and the size of its helper uploads. Click a stretch or a status diamond to jump to that message in the task chat; from the timeline this opens the chat sidebar if needed. Everything past the budget marker fades out instead of turning red.
- New: Feedback and Done, which arrive as status changes rather than revisions, are pinned on the budget bar at the hours worked when they happened, a diamond for each, in the status's own color.
- Improved: the budget bar uses green for budget, blue for scheduled and violet for worked.
- Improved: the timeline budget dock is one thin bar with three markers (green budget, blue scheduled, violet worked) and a legend underneath, plus a single status: hours available or over budget. Drag the budget marker or edit the legend value to change the budget. Details moved to tooltips.
- Removed: the "Change N tasks" status selector from the timeline toolbar. Status changes stay available from the task's right-click menu.
- Improved: confirmations on the timeline and in the video editor (discard changes, remove a time entry, roll back an import) now use the app's own dialogs instead of the browser's.
- New: an All stages button at the right of the budget bar (timeline and task chat) opens a day-by-day view of the whole item. One row per stage, each with its own budget-style bar laid out on a calendar. Two bar modes: By day (default) fills the whole column of any day with revisions for a tidy overview, and Real hours draws every revision to scale on the day it was posted (a full day column is an 8h workday, so a 2h revision fills a quarter of it). Both color by status and leave quiet days empty. Feedback and Done show as diamonds. Hover a stretch for the revision, its hours, status and author, or click it to review its videos and images right under the calendar, with a shortcut to that revision in the task chat. Weekends are compressed by default (toggle in the header), four zoom levels go from the whole history fitted in the popup to wide days, and long histories scroll with the wheel, Shift+wheel sideways, or by dragging the background.
- Fixed: revision images and videos now load when you open them from the All stages view.
Other
- Fixed: Create shots in the editor could fail on the first shot with a render timeout while the rest went through. The first shot reads every source cold and had the same two-minute budget as the others; the budget is now at least three minutes, grows with the number of sources, gets larger on each retry, and the source checks run in parallel instead of one by one.
- Fixed: a message you were typing sometimes came back shorter, or not at all, after switching threads. The browser's local storage was full of canvas safety copies, so draft saves were silently failing. Safety copies now keep to a budget (the three most recent canvases), drafts make room for themselves when needed, and they are saved the instant you type and when the tab goes to the background.
- Fixed: switching threads could carry the text you were typing into the other thread's draft.
- New: with the app open in two browser tabs, a draft typed in one tab shows up in the other as soon as it opens the same thread, or right away if it is already there. Sending the message in one tab clears it in the other.
- Fixed: opening a chat from a notification, the feed or a search result now opens the tree on that item and scrolls to it, even if you had collapsed its project, space or collection earlier. Before, a collapsed project kept the tree shut and the item stayed out of sight.
- New: press numpad "." (like Blender's view selected) to open and scroll the tree to the chat you are in.
- New: collections can be folded. Each collection header in the tree has a chevron; a folded collection shows its item count and stays folded across reloads, also with filters off.
- Improved: the tree search now matches collection names, so typing a collection name lists that collection with all its items. Needs the database update from this cycle.
- Fixed: the Production tab now takes you back to the thread you were on (project, space, item or task chat) after a visit to Timeline, Canvas or Editor, instead of flashing it and then dropping you in Team Chat. Clicking Production while already there still goes to Team Chat.
- New: superadmins see each studio's generative AI spend (this month, last month, total) in the Studios tab, and a monthly breakdown per use type (Nano Banana, GPT Image, Seedance, Veo, upscales, remove background and more) in the studio panel.
- Fixed: PDF attachments showed up as broken images in chat messages and revision cards, and as an endless spinner in the feed. They now get their own tile with a PDF badge and the file name.
- Improved: the task chat shows the same budget bar as the timeline (budget, scheduled and worked markers with a legend) instead of the old text banner, including the automatic budget for tasks without an estimation.
- New: the item chat gets its own budget bar covering the whole item, with the worked part split into one stretch per stage, colored by that stage's status and clickable to open it.
Desktop Helper 1.0.23
Sequence audio, prompt generator and canvas navigation
Blender add-on 0.6.23
Blender add-on
- New: Sequence context now plays audio. The surrounding shots' playblasts sound in sync during viewport playback, and your own shot plays the audio of its latest playblast too. An Audio toggle and volume slider sit next to the opacity control, and the sound never travels into published files.
- New: Loading sequence context with 0 shots around still brings your own shot's audio, so you can animate to the dialogue without the neighbor clips.
- New: Sequence context has a separate Audio stage selector. It defaults to Same as video, and picking another stage plays that stage's sound under the same shots, so silent playblasts can borrow the audio of a stage that has it.
- Improved: Sequence context follows the shot's frame range live. Extending or retiming the shot re-anchors the surrounding clips and their audio around the new range automatically, without reloading anything.
- Improved: When the own-shot audio loads and the render output has no audio codec yet, the addon picks AAC so viewport playblasts rendered from the file carry the shot's audio forward.
Canvas
- New: You can name any image on the canvas. Double-click it and write what it is, for example "Amy from behind" or "the night sky". That name is what the model is told the image is whenever you wire it into a generator.
- New: The reference slots of the video generators show the name of whatever is wired into them, so you can read the whole setup at a glance.
- Improved: The list that tells the model which attachment is which is now written by the app when the request is sent, from the cables you actually have. It can no longer describe a reference you unplugged, and it renumbers itself when you move a cable.
- Improved: The Prompt generator now writes only the shot: action, camera and timing. Prompts are always written in English, whatever language you talk to it in.
- New: The Prompt generator asks you a question when it would otherwise have to guess, and answers you when you ask it something. Neither of those touches the generator or starts a generation.
- Improved: Prompts written by the Prompt generator now reach the model as written. The generic advice the app used to add around them, like "keep the same composition and framing", is dropped for those prompts because it argued with what you asked for.
- Fixed: Look references now keep the order they have on the canvas. Mixing images that live in the studio with loose ones used to reorder them silently, so the model could be told the wrong thing about each picture.
- New: The canvas breadcrumb now shows where the board actually lives: studio, project, space and item, ahead of any folders inside the canvas.
- New: Clicking any level of that breadcrumb opens the tree right there. Pick any item and its canvas loads in the same window, so changing canvas no longer means closing one and opening another.
- Improved: Anything still being saved lands before the canvas switches, so a note you just moved is never lost or written into the board you left.
- Removed: Reference tags typed by hand, like [Image2] or @Image1, are no longer accepted in a direction. The numbering is decided when the request is sent, so a tag written earlier could point at a different image. Describe what you mean instead, or pick a reference with @ to insert its name.
Desktop Helper 1.0.22
Faster downloads + review fixes
File management
- Improved: Downloads with many small files are much faster, both for revisions and for the file browser's "download all files". Small files now use the full parallel download pool while big files keep their own limited lane, so neither slows the other down.
Review mode
- Fixed: Middle mouse button now pans the media at any zoom level. It only worked after zooming in.
- Fixed: Mouse wheel zoom over the media could stop working depending on how the review opened. It now always zooms, centered on the cursor.
Desktop Helper 1.0.21
Editor sequence import + safe asset updates
Blender add-on 0.6.21
Pipeline
- Improved: Sequence context now follows the order of the shots instead of their frame numbers. Shots can be deleted, inserted or retimed and the surrounding playblasts still line up without renumbering anything.
- New: Shots that have no published playblast yet keep their place in the sequence context and show as a gap of their real duration.
- New: Shots created from the video editor now remember their position in the sequence.
Blender add-on
- New: Linked master updates now warn by default instead of updating on their own. Opening a file keeps your assets exactly as they are, outdated inputs show a warning, and you update them from the Inputs panel when you are ready. A preference can restore automatic updates.
- Fixed: Replacing a linked asset no longer leaves pieces of the old one behind. The outliner stays clean and new assets keep their proper names instead of getting .001 suffixes.
- Improved: When an asset must be replaced, its override is rebuilt on the new version and your work is put back on it: the animation, the transforms, the full pose, and every unkeyed rig setting such as IK/FK switches. Nothing falls back to the new version's defaults. If the rebuild is not possible, the animation is kept safe in the file for manual recovery.
- Improved: Broken leftovers from older asset replacements are now recognized as leftovers, so the cleanup tools can remove them.
- Fixed: Files already damaged by older asset replacements heal themselves on open. The broken leftovers are swept, and the animation and transforms trapped on them are rescued onto a rebuilt override of the current asset.
- Improved: Sequence context can extend before frame 0 when a shot starts near the beginning of the timeline. Blender's negative frames option is enabled automatically when needed.
- Improved: Loading sequence context no longer freezes Blender. Downloads run in the background and the panel shows their progress.
- New: Sequence context survives closing and reopening a file, including files published with Save for Animanager. It remounts instantly from the files already on disk and quietly refreshes itself if the montage changed since, downloading only what is new.
Desktop Helper
- New: The helper caches the video editor's clips on disk in the background. With the helper running, timeline playback streams from your own machine instead of the cloud, so scrubbing and revisiting clips is much smoother. The cache appears in File management and can be cleared there.
Other
- New: The video editor can import a whole space or a collection as a sequence of clips. Pick the project, space and optionally a collection, choose the most advanced stage or a fixed one, and skip stages you never want to see. Each clip plays its shot's master video, falling back to the newest revision with video or to an earlier stage when needed.
- New: Imported sequences stay in sync with production. New shots appear, removed shots disappear and new masters update the clips and their durations automatically. Editing a clip by hand pauses sync for just that clip, and you can re-sync it or the whole group at any time.
- New: The editor project can be renamed from the Project section of the properties panel.
- Fixed: Clicking or scrubbing to another position on the editor timeline while playing no longer stops playback. It resumes from the new position.
- Improved: Opening an editor project with many clips no longer overloads the machine. Thumbnails and clip details load a few at a time and playback stays smooth.
- Removed: Audio waveforms on timeline clips are temporarily off while their generation moves fully to the background.
- Fixed: Editor clips could turn black and playback degraded badly once the browser had media in its cache. Cached video responses were rejected by the storage host and are now fetched in a way that always works.
- Improved: Shift plus mouse wheel scrolls the editor timeline horizontally. Zooming stays on Alt plus wheel.
- New: An imported sequence with sync turned off shows a "changes" notice on its row when shots were added, removed or updated upstream.
- Fixed: The editor no longer shows unsaved changes on its own right after opening a project with imported sequences.
- Fixed: The Add asset picker showed "No projects" when opened from the editor or a canvas window.
- Fixed: The Create shots progress list now fills the dialog instead of scrolling inside a small strip.
Desktop Helper 1.0.20
Pipeline metadata + sequence context
Blender add-on 0.6.20
Pipeline
- Fixed: the pipeline editor no longer blocks saving when a stage once marked as Continuation is left without inputs. The Continuation type now lives only on each input connection. A stage keeps it just as the suggested default when you connect a new input
- Fixed: a newly added asset no longer lands hidden under an existing card. It now takes the nearest free spot
- New: after adding an asset the canvas brings it into view and flashes a yellow glow around it for a few seconds so it is easy to find. Adding an asset that is already on the canvas flashes the existing card
- New: pipelines now have a Metadata section where you can enter values such as Frame start, Frame end, FPS or Resolution and show them on the stage cards that use them. Metadata is saved with the pipeline and shared with your team
- New: metadata follows the pipeline hierarchy. A workflow template copies into the space, and collections and items inherit from their parent, can override single values, and can disable a field just for themselves
- Fixed: copying a pipeline now also copies its own metadata fields and stage assignments when you paste it into another scope. Ctrl+V now merges pasted metadata into the destination instead of replacing it
- Fixed: cancelling a settings dialog now discards unsaved metadata changes instead of keeping them around until the next visit
- Fixed: copying a pipeline between items, spaces or collections now keeps its asset inputs and their connections
Blender add-on
- New: the Animanager panel now shows a Metadata section with the values defined for your stage on the web, such as frame range, FPS or resolution. Fields that do not apply to the open file do not appear
- New: metadata values are applied to the scene automatically when you open a work file, the same way consumptions reconcile on load
- New: when the frame range is applied, the playhead jumps to the first frame of the range and the Timeline zooms to fit it
- New: when a scene value drifts from the web value it turns red with two choices. Fix sets the scene back to the web value. Push to item sends your scene value to the web after an explicit confirmation
- New: saving with Animanager now records the scene timeline markers with the revision, so the video editor can import them without downloading the file
- New: Sequence context. The Animanager panel can load the published playblasts of the shots around yours and play them on the active camera whenever the playhead is outside your shot's range, so your work is always seen in context. A slider picks how many shots around, or All
- New: a Stage dropdown chooses where the context playblasts come from. Working on layout you can bring the neighbors' spline when it is ready, or stay on your own stage. A stage with nothing published just shows a notice, and your loaded context stays
- Improved: the Animanager panel groups Metadata and Sequence context into collapsible sections. Metadata starts open, Sequence context starts collapsed
- New: sequence context never touches your shot's real frame range. Adjust frame range uses Blender's preview range to open playback to the loaded stretch, and unticking it, or pressing Revert frame range, switches the preview range off
- New: an Opacity slider controls how strongly the neighbor playblasts show on the camera
- New: context files download once into each source shot's own folder and re-download in the background when missing on this machine
- New: publishing with Save for Animanager strips the context from the published file automatically, so downloads never show broken camera links, and puts it back in your session right after
Desktop Helper
- New: the video editor can ask the helper to read the timeline markers of an older revision. The helper downloads the .blend once, reads the markers with Blender in the background, and shares the result with the whole studio
Other
- New: right-click a canvas folder and choose Set as Asset to turn it into a reusable asset. You keep generating inside it, and only the media you connect to its Asset output is published
- New: Add > Asset places any asset of the studio in the canvas as a frame with its images inside, so you can feed the whole set or one single image to an AI node. Double-click it to open the asset wherever it was made
- New: right-click a clip in the video editor to add a comment, shown as a timeline marker with a text box over the picture on its frame. Comments now remember who wrote them and when
- New: Get markers from blend in the clip right-click menu now imports the real markers of that clip's revision. It is disabled when the revision has no .blend work file. Re-importing replaces only the markers previously imported from that clip
- Improved: the Create shots popup now uses the same split layout as the pipeline dialogs, with Destination, Stages, Metadata and Shots sections on the left and the destination pipeline canvas on the right
- New: the pipeline canvas in Create shots is editable. Assets and connections added there are saved on every created shot as its own item pipeline, without touching the space
- Improved: the project and space dropdowns in Create shots now follow the app theme
- New: selecting a timeline marker shows its properties on the right panel. Rename it, move it to an exact frame, or switch its type between Shot, Collection and Comment
- New: with nothing selected, the right panel shows the project settings. Frame rate and resolution can be changed there, so a 24fps edit no longer has to live on a 25fps timeline
- New: collection markers now carry two names, the collection and the first shot it opens, editable separately in the marker properties
- Improved: the Create shots preview now mirrors the tree it will create, with one header per collection and the exact final item names under it
- New: markers can carry tags, appended to the created item's name. Tags you type once become one-click chips shared by the whole editor project
- New: double-click a tag chip to rename it. The rename applies everywhere the tag is used, on every marker and in the shared list
- New: drag tag chips to reorder the list. Tags land in each item's name following that order, whatever order they were clicked in
- New: with a marker selected, the selection follows the playhead from marker to marker, both during playback and while scrubbing, so the properties panel always shows the shot at the playhead
- New: tag chips are colored by their first three letters, so tags of the same family share a color. Active tags fill with their color instead of showing a border
- Fixed: tags that differ only in upper or lower case now count as the same tag when toggling, renaming and building item names
- New: the marker panel shows a Creates section at the bottom with the exact final names, numbering included, that Create shots will produce for that marker
- New: the video editor no longer autosaves. Edits stay local until you press Save (or Cmd/Ctrl+S) in the new save bar, and Discard restores the last saved state. Undo history, markers, tags, track toggles and project settings are all covered
- Improved: actions that need the saved timeline, such as Create shots, generating from a selection or opening a clip container, save your changes first as part of the action. Closing the tab or switching projects with unsaved changes now asks first
- New: shot and collection markers now carry their own Comment field. When shots are created, the item's Comments metadata combines the marker's note with every comment marker inside the shot's range
- New: Create shots can activate metadata on every new shot. Checkboxes choose what to fill: frame range with global frames, FPS and resolution from the editor project, and Comments with the editor comments that fall inside each shot
- Fixed: in chat and feedback notes, a line break inside a bullet now opens the next bullet, and one more break on an empty bullet leaves the list
- Fixed: writing a bullet by hand on a line opened with a line break now turns that line into a bullet instead of leaving the dash as plain text
- Fixed: the bullet and numbered list buttons now take only the line the cursor is on, not the line above it
- Improved: editing a chat message now opens the same rich text editor as the composer, with the formatting toolbar, styled text and lists
- Improved: the Edit Comment and Edit Revision popup now uses the rich text editor too
- New: @mentions and #channel mentions now work while editing a message, a comment or a revision, with the same dropdowns as the composer. People newly mentioned in an edit get notified
- Fixed: the @mention and #channel dropdowns now appear right above the line you are typing instead of floating over the messages, and they follow the app theme instead of always being dark blue
Desktop Helper 1.0.19
Worked timeline returns + no Blender freezes
Helper 1.0.19. Blender addon 0.6.19
Pipeline
- New: the revision info popover lists every pipeline input the revision was published under, with a Pipeline tag when the exact consumed version was not reported
- Fixed: revisions now record the helper version that published them
- Improved: the revision info popover shows only the tools that took part in the publish instead of rows of Not available
- Fixed: a failed inputs lookup in the revision popover now says so instead of silently hiding the section
File management
- Fixed: selecting a single work file no longer silently uploads the other work files in the task root
- Fixed: files without a valid Save for Animanager never block posting anymore. They show greyed out with the reason and simply do not upload
- Improved: only what you select in the files popup uploads. Nothing is added behind your back
- New: files referenced by your work file show a Used by tag in the popup, so you know the work file will miss them if they do not upload
Blender add-on
- Fixed: the periodic activity snapshot no longer freezes Blender. The capture waits for a pause in your interaction and the image processing moved to the helper
- Fixed: a failed activity snapshot now waits a full minute before retrying instead of hammering every 2 seconds
- Fixed: VDB caches, image sequences and UDIM textures now publish every file of the sequence instead of only the first one
- New: saving a file that pulls in a sequence shows how many files and how much data it adds
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: Windows updates no longer fail when a previous update was left half installed
- Fixed: updates on Windows now install silently instead of opening an installer window that could be left hanging
- Fixed: uninstalling on Windows now shows a confirmation when it finishes and a clear error if it fails
- Fixed: uninstalling now works on studio machines with restricted PowerShell policies
Other
- Fixed: Timeline filters no longer hide projects, spaces, collections, items, statuses or team members created after the filter was saved. Only what you explicitly excluded stays hidden
- Fixed: the Worked tab shows work cards again. A styling regression from July 25 made every worked card invisible, leaving only absences on screen
- Fixed: the Worked tab no longer loses cards to old saved filters. Items created after the filter was saved were being silently filtered out
- Fixed: the Worked tab now shows the real loading error with a Retry button instead of silently looking empty
- Fixed: the Downloads menu now shows the current helper and Blender addon versions
- Fixed: chat and feedback editors no longer crash when formatted text ends with line breaks
- Fixed: line breaks in chat and feedback messages no longer leave a stray backslash at the end of the line
- Improved: long logs and stack traces in chat now collapse into compact code blocks with copy and TXT download controls
Desktop Helper 1.0.18
Reliable downloads + richer messaging
Helper 1.0.18. Blender addon 0.6.18
File management
- Improved: selection in Files to publish is now strictly hierarchical. A folder covers its contents, a file covers itself
- Fixed: files could reselect themselves after pressing None
Desktop Helper
- Fixed: Get and Get all now recover from interrupted downloads instead of leaving Animanager Helper permanently busy
Review mode
- New location for the Feedback button
- Removed: copy frame and download buttons from the review toolbar
- Fixed: links in feedback comments now render as clickable links instead of plain text. Bold, italic and other chat formatting also works there
- New: the feedback notes box is now a rich text editor. Bold, italic, lists and links show styled while you type, with a formatting toolbar like Slack
- New: review share links open ready for feedback and greet clients with a short step by step guide: write your notes, draw with the pencil, drop text on the media, send feedback. Videos and multi image revisions get an extra step about per frame and per image feedback
Other
- Fixed: Personal Notes no longer flashes or collapses while refreshing after it is opened
- Improved: Personal Notes is wider, giving notes more room and reducing text wrapping
- Improved: Superadmin error reports now flag Get and Get all jobs that stop reporting progress, including the helper version, step, file and progress
- New: the chat message box got the same rich text editor and formatting toolbar as feedback notes. Mentions, channels, drafts and attachments keep working as before
- New: links with custom text. Writing [Text](url) shows as a clickable link in chat and feedback
- Improved: numbered lists now render with real numbers in chat messages and feedback
Desktop Helper 1.0.17
New helper + new addon
Helper 1.0.17 · Blender addon 0.6.18
Pipeline
- Fixed the Get files category picker missing from the input mode menu
- New Duplicate button on workflow presets to create a variant without rebuilding it from scratch
- New Copy and Paste buttons on every pipeline canvas. Copy a workflow and paste it over another one, or into a space, collection or item pipeline. Ctrl+C copies the selected stages and Ctrl+V merges them in
- Fixed the multi-item pipeline editor being locked when items had different pipelines. It now edits right away and connectors can be removed
- Improved the item gear icon. With several items selected it opens the settings for the whole selection
- Fixed References stages linked as inputs always showing as not started in Get files. References now works as a normal stage with its own workspace and revisions, so it can publish and feed downstream stages
- Improved the master badge on revisions. Clicking a pinned master unmarks it directly and the stage goes back to following the latest revision
- New: the revision info popover (i) lists the exact input versions the work file was saved with, so any revision can be traced back to what it was built on
- New: every revision now records its input versions, whatever the workflow. Revisions published without Blender or the helper get a snapshot of the effective masters at post time
- New: every revision also records a snapshot of the pipeline it was published under, including inputs that had nothing published yet. A revision can be traced back to exactly what the artist saw
- New: each input in the revision info popover has a Set as master button. Reverting a whole stage to the input versions a good revision used is one click per input
- Fixed the revision info popover showing the viewer's helper version instead of the publisher's, and showing Not available for everyone else. Addon, Blender and helper versions are now saved with the publish and shown to every viewer
- Fixed new render folders being buried in the Files to publish window on big workspaces. New and changed files now always show first, ahead of files already uploaded
- Improved folder selection in Files to publish. Checking a folder stages everything inside it even when not every row is shown, folder counts show real totals, and the summary reflects what will actually upload. Files with no changes are skipped automatically
- New: the Files to publish window now browses like a file explorer. Every folder is always listed with its real file count, opening a folder loads its full contents, and a single folder can be staged with one click. The Load more button is gone
- New: folders and files that are already uploaded show as up to date, greyed out and not selectable. A Show only new toggle, on by default, hides them entirely so the window lists exactly what will upload
- Improved scan speed when preparing the file list. Tasks with tens of thousands of files scan much faster
- New: any folder created at the top of a task workspace is now tracked like files/. It appears in Files to publish with change tracking and publishes under its own name. Before, only files/ and exports/ were recognized
- New: publishing checks the work file before creating the revision. A Blender file saved without the Animanager addon blocks the post with a clear explanation, instead of failing the upload afterwards
- Fixed failed work file uploads showing only generic advice. The revision card now shows the exact reason, such as which file needs Save for Animanager
Blender add-on
- New: managed collection names put themselves back if renamed, with a note explaining why. Organize freely inside your stage collection.
- Improved: appended inputs from older addon versions are modernized automatically on file open, so renaming no longer breaks them
- New: one color language for collections, with a small legend in the panel. Blue is your stage, green is managed by Animanager, yellow needs attention.
- Fixed: a collection could stay yellow after a Get had already resolved the problem.
- Fixed: saving after renaming your stage collection no longer shows an error. The addon restores the name and saves normally, including files renamed before this protection existed.
- Improved: reserved colors (blue, pink, yellow) are cleared from your own collections so the legend always tells the truth.
- Fixed: restored stage collection names include the item name again, not just the stage.
- Fixed: after renaming an item, the addon respects your corrected collection names instead of fighting them. Name protection only kicks in for names that lost the stage and id pattern entirely.
- Fixed: appended inputs no longer spawn a duplicate yellow placeholder collection after an item rename. Existing phantom placeholders remove themselves.
- Fixed: Save for Animanager now restores every managed collection name, not only the stage collection. Renaming faster than the background check can no longer slip through a save.
- Fixed: in-Blender addon updates now reload the addon completely. Some fixes previously stayed inactive until Blender was restarted.
- Fixed: after renaming an item, its own inputs now follow the current item name. Previously the stage collection could say the new name while an input still said the old one.
- Fixed: inputs removed from the pipeline stop coming back. Deleted collections of a removed input are no longer restored on file open or Reload masters.
- New: removed inputs with appended content show a Release button. The content stays in your file as ordinary collections, no longer managed by Animanager.
- Fixed: updating a linked input after its source was renamed no longer breaks the link. The addon reloads it under the new name instead of keeping the old one.
- Fixed: stage names with several words no longer confuse the name protection between different inputs of the same item.
- Fixed: an input consumed both directly and through a continuation no longer creates a duplicate container collection.
- Fixed: the color legend icons could show blank after updating the addon without restarting Blender. Icons now reload themselves when missing.
- Fixed: on Windows, stage folders no longer stay locked while Blender is open. Folders can be renamed or deleted without closing Blender first.
- Fixed: an appended input could snap back to a short or outdated name moments after the append had renamed it correctly. The full container name now sticks.
Desktop Helper
- New Storage section in the helper window. See how much disk each item uses on this computer, delete local copies you no longer need, and clear the version cache. Published work stays in the cloud and can be downloaded again
- Items in the Storage list show their current name even if the local folder still has an older one, and every row has an Open button to jump to the folder
- Improved safety for local deletes. An item cannot be deleted while one of its files is open in a connected app or while an upload is running. Work open elsewhere never blocks the delete
- Fixed the helper showing a crash popup after temporary network errors
- Fixed occasional connection errors when a helper restarts or reconnects
- Fixed revisions that do not change the .blend leaving the revision info popover empty. They now carry the same addon, Blender and helper versions as full publishes
- Improved input version recording. Inputs consumed as files and inputs untouched by a media only publish are now recorded too, so every revision knows exactly which input versions it was built with
Other
- New Pipeline button in the top bar. Opens the workflow presets and pipeline editor directly, without digging into Studio settings
- New Pipeline permission at studio level. Roles with it can edit workflow presets and every pipeline without access to the rest of Studio settings
- Improved the chat composer to keep a separate unsent message per channel, including attachments, GIFs, status, time spent and checklists. Everything stays in its channel when you navigate and survives refreshes, crashes, and failed sends
- Fixed unsent chat text and attachments following you into other channels, which could lead to posting in the wrong place
- Fixed the app sometimes failing to load a page right after an update. It now reloads to the new version automatically
- New button in the Superadmin error inbox to copy all open bugs as text for quick triage
- Improved References tasks to appear in the timeline and queue like any other stage. The reference canvas stays available on each item
Desktop Helper 1.0.16
New helper + new addon
Pipeline
- Fixed: Get files now creates the starter work file on machines running portable Blender builds. The helper finds a Blender that is currently running, remembers it for later, and falls back to a bundled empty file if no Blender can be found.
Blender add-on
- Tells the helper where Blender is installed, so starter files work with portable builds
Other
- Fixed: creating a new studio showed No workflows yet even though workflow presets exist. The catalog now loads for everyone.
Desktop Helper 1.0.15
New helper + new addon
Pipeline
- Improved: Get files reuses masters already on this computer. A version downloaded for one shot is not downloaded again for another shot that uses the same input.
- Improved: the Get files dialog now shows when an input is already on this computer and will link without downloading.
- Improved: the Get files result now always tells you what happened to your work file. If it could not be created, you see the reason instead of a success message.
- Improved: repeated Get files verifies masters already on this computer in an instant instead of re-reading them in full. The progress label now says Verifying local copy while it checks.
- Improved: progress bars appear only while files actually download. Inputs reused from this computer finish as Already on this computer instead of showing a download.
Blender add-on
- Detects new versions within a minute
Other
- Removed: the Spain theme. Anyone still using it moves to the Dark theme automatically.
Aug 24, 2026
New helper + new addon
Pipeline
- Fixed bug with read only files in Windows that prevented the system from composing blend files with the right content
- Fixed multiple Blender sessions stacking for ever in the "Active users" dropdown. Closed sessions will remain visible for 15 minutes. People working in Blender now count as online even without Animanager open
- Removed the dependencies folder. Dependencies will always download to their origin stage folder, making it more predictable and avoiding duplicates
- Inputs whose master has no blend no longer disappear from Get files. They show up with their reason
- Improved popup clarity for continuation files used in stages
- Improved the logic for consumables passed to subsequent steps in Continue stages. They are informational now and repair automatically when missing, broken or outdated
- Managed inputs now live inside the stage collection in Blender. Existing files reorganize on open
- Old publications with several root collections link correctly again
Other
- Solved items not showing stages/not filtering in tree grid
- Cleaner Team Activity: wider dropdown, session status in one row, less clutter
- Snapshot viewer opens bigger, keeps the dropdown open and adds an Open in new tab button
